I cut a piece of packaging plastic and glue to inside ot the lid on my terminal 3700. Plastic like you might find wrapped around a new TV or monitor....thin, but thick enough to keep stuff in place.....like @Mike L's cardboard

I gave up on methiolate and bubblegum years ago. I don't recall the details....entirely likely that I didn't give them a fair chance. But, I still have a hundred pounds of other colors to work through before I will feel the need to revisit.

I learned a few weeks ago that bass appear to know their water mammals. I've noted that bites will fall off when otters are near. Not sure if the bass take off or just get wary and lockjawed. I always assumed swimming beavers would have similar effect, even though I routinely catch bass alongside beaver log piles. But a few weeks ago I was swimming back a long cast and a beaver came around a point. My bait got slammed at a spot that couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 feet right below the beaver. I tend to get a little frustrated with wildlife that I think might screw up my fishing....otters...or cormorants sitting on a great laydown....but I won't curse the swimming beavers anymore...at least the ones that don't tailslap-scare the crap out of me

I'd bet I'm not the only one with some of these laying around. Built like a tank. Dug out my dad's old Christmas tree tinsel...the kind made with lead that you cannot buy anymore. He had it wrapped in a newspaper from 1961.

Great point. I keep mine loaded almost year round. Bonus...I smoke cigars in there daily....so even if it rains, the inside is still tinted

I am not sure. Seems that if the biologists belive the limit is good for the lake....well then I think a free tourney exemption is highly supportive of tournament fishing. I have not heard of such an exemption on other limit or slot lakes.

I have at least 3 pieces of entry level Frogg Toggs stuff, but I have no clue what 'lines' they equate to. But my experience.....started with most basic Tyvek jacket many years ago. No pockets, very cheap, packable. It has been abused, packed for months at a time, no 'maintenance'....and it is perfectly waterproof to this day. I added the Tyvek basic pants a year or two later....same deal....super cheap; no pockets; elastic waistband....no zipper/no fly, etc. Very packable, and totally waterproof. The biggest drawback to this material is that it doesn't breath very well and can get a bit hot....my answer, is to take them off when it stops raining. BUT....my advice here, is to skip the pants and go straight to bibs. If you wear that suit in a good rain....you will get your azz wet, especially if seated for any length of time. I got FT bibs that are more rubbery plastic than Tyvek and love them. (Maybe Pro-Advantage?) Very dry and while not insulated, they do insulate well enough and cut the wind effect. I just layer underneath in the colder weather.

They approach waterproofing differently than other companies, at least on their lower end stuff. Their entry (and some mid) level stuff uses Tyvek and also some sort of rubberized plastics materials. As opposed to some others' triple seams and DWR. So, many find the feel and noise are a bit off-putting. These criticisms don't necessarily apply to their top tier stuff, anyway...but you know how a brand can get defined by a single product. Still, if it is pouring out, I will stay much drier in my $20 Frogg Toggs jacket than I will in my $80 Columbia rain coat.

Local shop has had a custom shakey head rod on display for months, but the price tag (and lack of warranty) kept it from selling. I've looked at it a number of times, but couldn't pull the trigger....but kept thinking about it, because it just felt so perfect. Found it was marked half off yesterday....so now I can take those LTB, Poisons and Megabass rods out of my TW cart. ?

Small- LC LV50 Med- Yo Zuri Vibe Large- Live Target Bluegill Weird, because there are very very few YZ and LiveTarget lures that I like. But those 3 above are consistent producers for me. I have very little luck with the more common RES and Berkley Warpig.

I learned a new presentation just this morning. I cast out a Trig worm and then spent some time getting the ice off my guides and level wind, when suddenly my line took off.

I use 7 inch Garmin (SI, GPS, etc), a generation or two older than Vivid. I have been quite happy with it. I have had Lowrance and Hbird in the past and prefer the Garmin. Haven't needed map chips because I can download maps to unit easily. Going from 5 inch to 7 inch is a big deal. Using 3 different views at once vs 2 is a BIG difference.

Agree....but then again... if I can catch walleye, I admittedly don't bother keeping the others. Only time I caught bluefish was when I was stationed in Rhode Island. Easy to catch, but I never got to where I really enjoyed eating them.
