  1. I'd be surprised if it were over 5%. But, I tend to assess blame on the fish...not the fisherman....when I don't catch what I think I should -- Also....to keep my head in the game, I am always assuming a fish is getting a good look every cast. So for those reasons, my estimate could be low.....but I wouldn't be shocked if it is in the range of 1 or 2%
  2. About every third time one of these threads come around, I go to swap hooks out a few baits. I rarely get through more than one at a sitting. My fumble-fingers are NOT meant to be messing with split rings. I had to change a blade on a spinnerbait a few weeks ago......took me 3 split rings and about 35 minutes. I have amassed a small pile of NIP Owner Stingers....but I am still mostly using OEM trebles.
  3. My recent orders and charges with TW were good. Now I need them to help with my UPS claim....for the Stradic and other stuff that were, quote, 'delivered' last Thursday
  4. I haven't put a motor on, but if I was considering it, I would start on FB (Virginia Kayak Bass..or something, Old Town Groups ...and maybe even KBF) There are a lot of shops and independent installers within a couple hundred miles of here. Some amazing talent around here. Oh...and probably bite on a bullet and acknowledge that drilling holes in your yak isn't a bad thing.
  5. Welcome, @ninerlife. I've fished Anna from a kayak less than two dozen times and I could write volumes....Sturgeon Creek Marina (or Rocky Branch) is as good a spot as any much of the time. I have only used public ramps and there isn't one that I'd say to avoid...Anna Point, Hunter Landing, Pleasant Landing, Christopher Run, State Park...and others....each has access to good fishing at various times. My best advice is to avoid main lake and big creeks between 11AM and 4PM from mid May through September. Crossing the lake in a kayak at 2PM on an August Sunday is about as terrifying as a fishing outing can possibly be.
  6. Fixed it for you Or ....I guess I fixed it for me
  7. I snapped a Dobyns Champion Extreme a few weeks ago. Six or seven year old rod; entirely my fault . I didn't call or email....just sent the 8 inch logo piece of rod with a brief note asking if I could get different DX model...and a check (replacement cost and shipping per the Dobyns web site.) I mailed it on December 7th. Yesterday (13th), the rod I requested was on my doorstep. Incredible.
  8. My definition of 'perfect cast' may differ from yours Nothing on utube bothers me, really....except maybe ads....then again, there's very very little content I have found that is worth my time....so I don't watch much
  9. Tatsu is on sale at TW now...almost certainly legitimate, not knockoff....and shipping would be free How much risk are you willing to take....for how many pennies 'saved'?
  10. I use 10ah SLA'S from Amazon for my 73SV. I run them pretty hard and only get a year out of them, generally. I will probably go with LiPO next time....would have by now, but I have five chargers already and was putting it off to keep from getting a sixth
  11. Those sure look like them...I wonder if Wm Joseph sourced his from China? (Or, for that matter, maybe William Joseph was really Wei Jing) Don't recall ever using Ali before. I'm a little principled about buying from China, but I can waive those commitments pretty quick for quality goods and scarcity of alternatives. I am using my wife's pair for now....I can try to trade her for the Orvis or Rapala or Dr. Slicks that all fell short for me....or shed those pesky principles, take one for the team and find out if they are the real deal.....not sure why I am finding a 15 dollar purchase so agonizing....just hate the idea of looking back later and thinking what a sucker I was
  12. @J Francho, that's the ones! Thank you. Looks like maybe discontinued...or out of business... Now...if anyone knows where there might be some stock left, I'd greatly appreciate it
  13. @J Francho, that's the ones! Thank you.
  14. I lost the single best fishing tool that I ever owned a few months ago. The cutting edge was like new after several years and the open handle and easy to operate 'lock' made them more user friendly than any I've had before. Does anyone recognize the brand, or know where I can get identical replacement?
  15. Nice find. I snapped my only ETSM casting rod when I got a big catfish to the surface and he dove under my kayak. That was my skipping rod...6'10MF....loved it, though I did have to have the reel seat 'fixed'. I still have a spinning version I use for Senkos.
  16. I have a few....mostly from my club and KBF. I am pretty anal about letting someone know where I am, and when I launch and get off the water. However, I don't have a lot of desire for the government to mandate it
  17. 8#, you can pull up a good sized branch....10#, you can pull up a small stump
  18. What? Never mind the line...where did you get an ETSM??
  19. Sorry I missed it. The second I connected, I got a phone call that I figured I best not ignore.
  20. Soooo...not sure how to advise.... I like YZH. Used it for most everything for years. Great value. But, whatever trouble you had with fluoro may be similar with same diameter YZH. I switched mostly to Invisx or braid/leader, but I still have YZH on a couple rods. I find Invisx to be quite a bit more sensitive than YZH, but much of that could be in my head. YZH used with KVD L&L is tough to beat when you consider price.
  21. Blade bait was money yesterday. Best day I've had since October.
  22. Great question....one I ask myself every time out. Would results be different if...... It's related to my lunatic tendency to change lures after first bite in an hour....I figure I found one dumb one, but must have thrown wrong thing for the past 60 minutes....or I'd have caught a lot more, right?
  23. Unfortunately, we're getting the wind that typically comes with these. 15-25 MPH all day Saturday
  24. So much greatness going on here
