Exactly. The kinks are obvious when you get them and I don't think anyone believed the line wasn't compromised at the kink... I'm with skeptics above. I believe that even the least kinky kinks drop you more than 5%.

This is timely. Twice this weekend I had boats pull up in front of me in my kayak, where it was clear which direction I was working. Neither time did i say anything, but both times I let the situation get the better of me. I kept working and cast too close...but more importantly, I let events take over my head. Spent a LOT of time thinking about this last night. My fishing suffered for over an hour each time and my enjoyment of fishing was sapped. I felt like the boats were wrong each time, but I can't believe that I didn't keep my head in check. Both boaters were a bit older and I wasn't going to 'teach' them anything. I did think to myself bot times that had i been in a boat, theres no way they would have pulled up like that....but maybe I'm wrong about that, too. I resolved to work harder at GMan's PMA philosophy...positive mental attitude. I WILL be less affected by the perceived negative actions of others. No matter how wrong he thought that coach was,I think the guy doing the video probably could benefit from a little self assessment, too.

I also think the Hobie Compass is a fantastic fishing kayak. Handles weeds extremely well. When you do tiny flutter kicks, the fins stay up almost flat against the hull. I paddled for a few years before getting the Hobie, and still do sometimes. The percent of time spent fishing when you don't have to paddle jumps exponentially. Paddling is fun and all...but fishing is better

Two ways, primarily: - Texas rigged; Owner TwistLock 3 or 4 ought. I use light wire with 1/16 - 3/16 oz weight, typically heavier wire with heavier weights. I do rage-rig them sometimes, using weighted swimbait hook. GP is only color I need...though I do sometimes mix it up ...maybe GP with red or black flecks -90% of the time my chatterbaits have a bug as trailer...almost always white ‐-------- Belay my last....I answered the wrong question. Above is how I use Rage Bug. I use a menace sparingly: in current on an Owner Ultrahead Finesse, and with light weight in pads when heavy and punching style presentations seem to spook them.

Thanks, @Glenn. I've been working on swim jigs off and on since last summer without much luck. Looks like he fishes his swim jig pretty fast. I've mostly tried to fish it slow, often bumping bottom or cover. I'll keep at it, but I will have to fight the urge to just switch and present a spinnerbait or chatterbait the way he uses a swim jig.

Thanks, @TOXIC. Dukes does present a fairly kayak friendly amount of water. Unfortunately, I didn't get much figured out Saturday. It was very slow. I did get bites deep on windy points, but struggled to get hooksets. The one keeper i did get was on shallow wood. I fared better Sunday up lake, but it was still much slower than I thought it should be. Only one I caught appeared to be post-spawn, surprisingly. Most were caught on spinnerbait pretty shallow.

Thanks. I'll check it out tomorrow. I've never been down lake beyond that big bay NW around the peninsula from Dukes. FWIW, that big bay, between Rawlins and Boggs points, seemed like it should be awesome, but never got a bite the two times I worked it. The party boats sure liked it, though.

Taking kayak to Anna tomorrow. I'm torn between three launches. Looking for opinions on which you'd take: -Anna Point/Pigeon Creek -Sturgeon Creek -The Cove/Hunters (Terry's Run/Plentiful) I like them all, but curious if anyone favors one over the others for this prespawn, spawn, maybe some post-spawn...kinda week

The bots were more tolerable than most. They offer to have a real person to call you early in the exchange - and, when requested, those calls came in about 15-20 seconds

I must admit that in recent weeks, Amazon CS has really amazed me. Very satisfactory on three different problems....two were not even caused by them, but by manufacturers

We use a couple fire sticks on not-so-smart tvs. Like it fine. Interface for moving around menus and typing is good. But... we watch Prime as much as anything....and I've never used Roku or Google or any others to compare

For crissakes, I made a battery from a potato in 3rd grade. But I can't get reliable power to a 7 inch fishfinder for under a hundred bucks and a lot of hoodoo voodoo mystery. New battery? Oh, you need a new charger for that. The green light doesn't come on? Oh...just wait a few more days....still not on....must be your charger....can't be our battery....Our charger? No way....you got a bad battery....get a new fangled bcdTUvX battery with 500000 cycles....but you will need our new charger for that.....oh, you used most of your ampvoltwatts last time out?? Sorry, you just took 3 years off the life of your battery....better get a new one as back up....just in case.....but that new one will need a different charger

I just dropped by to say that batteries suck. So do chargers. Such a seemingly simple pair of items always, very quickly becomes so complicated that I want to scream.

I have Penrod's tidal Potomac book that I can loan to you. I'm in Woodbridge on weekdays. Can meet up of convenient for both of us. Or we can work something out. PM to work out details.

If I stumble across an offshore potential, I might spend 4 to 6 hours there the first time, depending on the complexity of the structure and cover. If I visit that spot the 15th time, I may spend 10 minutes or an hour depending on how well I think I've read it and fished it....not too mention how I've applied what I already think I learned on my way there. If there is moving water there, or very close, I might work the area all day long.
