  1. I got some awesome japanese hardware from my mom. An Iwata HP-C airbrush and a bunch of paints, comrpessor, etc. THis thing is bad to the bone! My girl got me a new pair of Costa Del Mars, a Huddleston long sleeve shirt and some other cool stuff. My dad came through with some 6" Huddlestons, which unfortunately will not arrive for awhile, but I am stoked there too. Had a great christmas and hope you all did too!
  2. Don't sweat it LBH. I have noticed that "baitms" has a habit of this self righteous soap boxing. I love 2lb spotted bass. I wish everyone that caught one kept them all.
  3. Thats it, hope you won't miss your bike. That is what I will be going for in the upcoming suit. Merry Christmas
  4. i think you fell a little SHORT on that joke muddy....
  5. ***PRESS RELEASE*** The Artist Formerly Known as fourbizzle, to be referred to as fourbizz from here on out, appreciates your interest in this matter. He would however like to remind his public that the le persona he worked so tirelessly to sculpt, still remains proprietary. Any attempt to use the le name in part or in whole for personal gain will be met with the full legal force that he possesses. Thank you for your time and understanding of the matter. fourbizz's Agent. ***END***
  6. I would like to expand my swimbait abilities. I feel like I have a set number of tactics that I can do well, but I think that I need to really focus on some other tactics to target the truly giant fish. Everyone out here is throwing big baits but they are not doing the things that get you consistent bites from the top end fish. Some of these things require absolute confidence and dedication, and its tough to do it. But I did get a GIANT bite doing one of them a week and a half ago, and that has rekindled the drive. The pain of missing a 12+ fish hits pretty hard, pretty hard indeed > But the approach worked, and that will keep me going for awhile
  7. I too replace hooks whenever possible, but on some baits like the huddleston 12 and 16, at $35 a bait , you can't afford to just replace the bait. I use a small, generic hook FILE. As long as you take your time and do it right, it works perfect. I think mine is that "Danielson" brand that you can get at wally world or wherever. I keep enough back up baits with me that I can just retie on the water, but at home I touch them up with the file. Any bait that can have the hooks swapped out gets owners at the slightest hint of dullness. Its not worth risking a giant fish to crappy, dull hooks! But if you gotta sharpen, do it manually ( muddy, control yourself ) and take your time.
  8. Since the site has been redone, with a smaller viewing area, has anyone played with the resolution settings on their computer? I'm trying to figure out which would be best for viewing BR as this is where I spend most of my time.
  9. Save a tree Wipe your a** with a spotted owl. I remember reading that on the door of a tackle shop bathroom in Arizona when I was like 12, still think its funny.
  10. LOL!LOL! Well........I guess we'll let dave decide. :D :D
  11. Yeah, that was his ORIGINAL joke. Heres your sign
  12. A double digit. That is the only thing I ever really want.
  13. Tin, i would have to say that an 08 duramax with the 6speed allison and a banks six gun with propane injection sounds pretty good. I agree with Robert the vanquish is overrated, I much prefer the DB9 such a classy car.
  14. Good call. I bet he appreciated getting lectured by strangers that know nothing about him though...
  15. Looks like it is pretty dialed in now!
  16. Gloomis 955C Swimbait Rod with a Calcutta 300TE Huddleston Deluxe 3:16 Wake Jr. 3:16 Missionfish 6" Mattlures Bluegill 1/2 oz D&M Customs Brown and Purple football head w/ a paca chunk.
  17. i test mine in my pool too, and like i said, shaking a slip eig causes the jig to move too much vertically. be as skeptical as you want. test it in the pool. i have tested it on fish.
  18. They definitely work. I haven't landed any real big ones on them, but a bunch of 2.5-3.5 lbers. I fought one from the end of a cast with a 7.5" bait all the way to the boat and dumped her at the net. She was huge, like REALLY huge :'( :-/
  19. once. i get on when i wake up, and log off when i go to bed, LOL
  20. the proto that i played with was probably about 2-2.5 ounces. not very heavy.
  21. way ahead of you chief. ordered mine on tuesday. my buddy was fishing with us at clear lake on sunday and got a couple 4's on a tough bite day with them.
  22. muddy, go to your corner ;D
  23. that is the design of the slip bobber jig man. it should be against the jig when you reel in. as long as you set it up right, the jig will sink back to the level that the stop is placed. when you impart action to it though, the jig will come up, then sink back down and i think that is the problem. i have used the fnf some. the idea is to make the jig shake. when you try to do this with a slip bobber, the jig will move a bunch vertically like about 6 inches. when you shake the rig with a fixed float it just makes the jig quiver, which is the action you are really looking for. and with the long leader lengths ( i have used up to 20ft with a fixed float) that is why you need a long rod. I use a cheap one that works great, although it is a little heavy. I use the 9'6" BPS Microlite Float n Fly. I like the bullet jigs. the punishers are ok, but i think that they are too thickly dressed and that takes away from the action. I haven't had any really great days with them, but I have had amazing days fishing for crappie with that rig and 2lb test. My buddy just caught a 2.8lb crappie on sunday with my gear. In my opinion IT DEFINITELY MAKES A DIFFERENCE between the slip and fixed floats. The shake is the key and you just can't get it right with a slip float.
  24. thats cold! you are a bad, bad, person. LOL!
