  1. Robert Jordan's "WHEEL OF TIME" series. I wouldn't start the series unless you have a couple of years though. There are currently 11 books of 500-1100pages (paperback)each in the main series with the twelfth supposed to finish the story (it is all the same story line). There is also a full length prequel as well. I have read all the books besides the 11th at least twice. There are well over 10,000 pages in the paperback versions. Unfortunately the author died in september leaving the last book partly finished. Another author is going to pick up where he left off, but if he screws it up, I swear I am gonna send him hatemail everyday! ;D They are fantasy epics in the ilk of lord of the rings, but much darker, violent, expansive, and entertaining. Yes I am a fantasy book nerd, but no one that I have convinced to read the first book has escaped without becoming addicted.
  2. i would like to add Jimzee's avatar to my list...
  3. Can I change my vote?
  4. You know, I am one of the biggest bait tweakers I know. I mostly do it with the big baits though. I do something to every swimbait I throw. Ranging from the slight and mundane to the extreme. I do something to one of the Hudds that takes me about an hour and a half to complete. With other similar softbaits, I will take them brand new, and cut them them from the nose to the belly and put a tungsten weight inside . Honestly, I don't think that any of the mods that I have tried are dumb. Some might be impractical or eccentric, but they have all had their purpose. If some of you guys could see what I do to $75-$250 baits, you would crap yoursleves As for the rapala, it wasn't dumb, you just made a nice twitchbait
  5. Kettle One and Redbull Corona
  6. Same! Would you rather be in a confined space with a rattlesnake, or swim laps around the Farallons? UCK! What a horrible set of options! Swimming laps I guess. At least those 20ft killing machines would finish me quick and I probably wouldn't see it coming. Everytime I see Great Whites hitting those decoys on the Discovery Channel, I am torn between how awesome and gnarly it is, and sheer terror.
  7. Can't believe I missed this thread! :-[ Welcome aboard! I'm sure you already know what its all about here. Good to have ya!
  8. rattlesnakes swimming in the ocean where I cannot see the bottom or touch bottom if it is murky confined spaces dumping big fish ;D
  9. like fluke and ku said, chin up and happy memories. live as he would have had you live. hang in there.
  10. 1: Nothing better than a sweet beaver flip them and use them on the back of a jig 2: no trailer and not usually a trailer hook either 3: I absolutely love the baby brush hog. texas, c rig, shakey head, on a jig, weightless 4: I almost always use a heavy jig. the lightest i will go is a 3/8 for flipping, the rest are 1/2-1oz football heads and a 1.5 ounce tungsten jig for punching.
  11. Hey grimlin, you should know that the XH is an absolute meat stick. it is the only okuma i still use, but it is really best for 4+ounce baits. depending on what baits you would like to use , you might want to look into the 7'6" Heavy, it is very versatile and a little better suited for the 5-8" softbaits and the 6-9 inch woodbaits. thats just me though! Remember guys that the power designations in swimbait rods are different than "standard" bass rods. A medium heavy swimbait rod has more power than the heaviest flipping stick there is. So when you see the XH big bait rods, those things are flag poles!
  12. I know you already found one but for future use, or other people, Amazon is the best place for videogames. I almost always buy them used. You can get a ton of PS2 games that are used and functioning in original packaging for like 4-8 bucks.
  13. I guess the green ones that matter were pretty impressed
  14. : Nothing impressive about the UNDENIABLY best bait for giant largemouth? Man, I better buy some more knocked off senkos then! :
  15. No, but i have checked it out at the shop a few times. All I can say is if it is anything like the rest of the rods in the line, than it is a bad mutha. i love those rods
  16. yeah unless talking to your girlfriend drives your buddy crazy ;D
  17. you will not want to throw huddlestons with that rod. huddlestons weigh 5 or 6 ounces (depending on rof) and that rod won't do it. For huddlestons: Loomis SBR956C (my favorite), Okuma 7'6" H and XH, Crucial 7'11" H, for mattlures: Loomis SBR955C, okuma 7'11" MH, Crucial MH
  18. well i guess if you don't know what a huddleston is then i won't worry about your swimbait opinion. LOL on a side not though, you are my hero. My girlfriend used to use senkos all the time, everytime we fished. this was expensive for me. now she uses trick sticks all the time everytime and i save enough money to buy more $35 batis for myself ;D
  19. i was referring to your statement that inferred that all they need to do is "swim". so you're saying that we might as well all be using sassy shad out here and stop wasting 35 bucks on huddlestons? :)
  20. My pb skied her way to the net for the last 7 or 8 feet.
  21. So thats why all the succesfull trophy hunters are using sassy shads....
  22. anything smaller than 1/3 of my biggest fish on that body of water. So if I am at the lake that I caught my 13 at, a 4lber is a dink. If I am at one of my local lakes where my pb is under 5 pounds, it would have to be under 1.5 lbs to be a dink. I always gauge my fish by the body of water.
  23. he sure does matt, i've got an addiction to his hardbaits that just won't stop.
  24. I only asked for one bait. She got me this one.
  25. i used to fish fine round rubber jigs exclusively, but i'm stuck on silicone now. i like the coloration alot more in silicone
