EWG Ned hooks
Good feedback - as far as hook sizing , some suggest that the Victory #1 size EWG is the same size as the Owner 1/0 EWG . My yardstick of measure is with the more widely available Gamakatsu #1 and 1/0 sizes which is about right for most Ned sized soft plastics .

EWG Ned hooks
The Do-It Molds Mid-West Finesse Jig Head Mold + the Victory #10777 #1 size and #1/0 size EWG hooks are receiving a lot of positive feedback as a weedless Ned Rig Jig Head solution ... *Anybody have any experience / updates to share with this set up in terms of having good (or improved) hook up success using a EWG style hook (Victory #10777) ? I would think the Elaztec material would work great with a EWG style hook as the Elaztec collapses so easy to allow good EWG hook ups ?

Have you ever used “gill” or “baby gill” patterns to imitate craws in lieu of green pumpkin?
I would say it depends on the head and skirt colors offered by the jig maker (I don't pay as much attention to the names). Colors such as Bama Craw (Junebug / Green Pumpkin) , Blue Craw , and a Green Pumpkin / Orange can work successfully for both imitating crawfish as well as bluegill . Also using a Green Pumpkin color jig and then altering the soft plastic trailer colors with Green Pumpkin , Orange , Brown , Blue , etc. can be effective to get you where you need to be . Choosing a dedicated Bream / Bluegill color jig is going to be more limiting as you definitely favor more of the Bluegill coloration and not a Crawfish with the Green Pumpkin / Blue / Orange / Yellow colors . Lastly , starting with a Green Pumpkin color variations in jigs as I shared above offers the most flexibility .

Favorite Flipping Jigs ?
I appreciate the replies ... It looks like Black and Blue , a Bream / Bluegill color and a Craw color would be three good colors to start with for flipping / pitching a structure jig around docks and brush or other structure. The Siebert Dredge series look interesting - I'm not familiar with the hook style but I'm sure it was selected for a good reason .

Whopper Plopper with inline single hooks....?
A few comments : First , also consider your split rings with single in line hooks (may need to beef up the split rings) . Next , VMC and OWNER are the only single in line hooks I am familiar with . Owner is carried by TW but not the VMC to my knowledge. Hook sizes for converting from treble hooks may be a little different between the VMC and OWNER single in line hooks . I like the idea as nothing strikes more fear into me than a wildly thrashing bass with treble hooks in its mouth !

We are loving the strength and durability of this affordable braid!
Looks like it would be a good braid around vegetation for swim jigs , frogs, etc.

Your Current Bait Cast Reel for Frogs (Heavy Braid)?
Good replies - a larger / wider bait cast spool does not appear to be as critical for frogging as does with say a deep crank bait where you want a decent retrieve speed as soon as the lure hits the water .

Medium Heavy moderate vs Medium moderate rods, when to?
Medium / Moderate rod plus #30 lb. Braid main line and a mono leader should work for both .

I went from power fishing to just about 100% finessee

Current Favorite Drop Shot Baitfish / Flat Worm ?
I have enough finesse worms - the Flat Worm , Crush Worm , Dream Shot style worms are next drop shot baits to try ... Sort of half worm / half bait fish . While Zoom regular Flukes get a lot of play with the drop shot - I hate the Fluke belly coming down to a point and trying to get a drop shot hook centered properly.

Your Current Bait Cast Reel for Frogs (Heavy Braid)?
It stands to reason that for a bait cast reel for frogs using 50 lb. ~ 65 lb. heavy braid - you need a high-speed reel with a good drag that holds a good amount of braid for making longer casts (without spooling out) . *What's your current bait cast reel for frogs that meets the above requirements ?

Current Favorite Drop Shot Baitfish / Flat Worm ?
While I like the shape of the Berkley Max Scent Flat Worm - I read mixed reviews if it's worth the price . What similar others have you tried with success in that flat worm / sculpin soft plastics shape for drop shot and had good success with ?

Chrome Color For Top Water ?
My thoughts are for a sunny day a chrome color top water can be a good color to use IF your body of water has shad as a bait fish for bass in it . Conversely , if your body of water does not have shad and is primarily a blue gill / crawfish bait habitat for bass - then chrome may not be a good color for top water compared to say bluegill , bone or baby bass top water colors ... Your thoughts and experiences on using chrome color top water lures on lakes with no shad ?
