  1. Welcome to bass resource

I ll fish football jigs any depth from 3'+ where I will be dragging my jig. Usually flats that have pebble or rocky bottoms. Or where I would carolina rig a bait but just don't feel like tying a leader up. Haha.
  3. Oh heck yea!! My neighbors thought me and my dad were nuts.
  4. If 12 lb line gets your lure to where the fish are then keep using it. You may lose a few ft of depth using 15 lb. But you could always use the "kneel and reel" technique by sticking the rod tip in the water to help with that.
  5. The seller is "ilovehardbaits" I think.
  6. Keep your plan and get your 12 lb mono to practice. Easier with a thicker line of 12 than 6 or 8. And honestly, mono I think is best all around line to fish with one setup.
  7. I might be wrong.. but fluoro stretches almost as much as monos. The sensitivity you're feeling isn't from lack of stretch but because the line is denser and sinks it's more of a direct line of contact. Transmits vibration better.
  8. You can get a decent baitcaster for around 80 dollars lews makes some, so does abu garcia ( black max, pro max, maybe an orra sx.) As for rods I usually wait for cabelas or bps or dick sporting goods to have sales on their brands rods. Then I can get a rod for around 40 bucks.
  9. I think as long as it floats, runs and still safe I'd keep it.
  10. Those are pristine. My 301's are all scuffed up still workhorses though. Use them for catfish and carp.
  11. Youtube and ebay are your best friends. Learn the nail knot What you have is fine. Starting out you don't need a super setup. I started out with a 20 dollar ( on sale from 40) reel and rod. Got taught the basics from a guide.which I did learn a lot but practically taught myself.
  12. Maybe I should get my license now. Hah. Having a wierd winter. That first freeze we had I put my rods away also being real busy with work and holidays. Made the wrong move I guess. Maybe I'll get my gear out again...
  13. Maybe you have KVD syndrome? Ya need things to keep moving. Haha
  14. Poppers, jerkbaits, weightless plastics like flukes. Up to 3/8 oz spinnerbaits would work. 12-14 lb line mono or 30lb braid with or without leader. Your choice.
  15. Ok well I don't think the spool is sitting in the pinion shaft correctly. Take the spool out examine it. Make sure no damage is to the shaft or nothing is bent.
  16. Is your line caught on the outside of the spool?
  17. Rapala xrap slashbait floats when I bought it but 1 splitring on the front hook suspends them then to a very very slow sink.
  18. Try mccoy's. I like the extra clear for everything or even their fluoro for pitching. Been using that line for about 5 years never had a issue with it and don't have plans to have any either... knock on wood. Find it on tackle warehouse, ebay, or Fishermans Heaven online. Have yet to see a store around me to carry it. But fishermans heaven deals with that line exclusively.
  19. Zoom chunk jr. and super chunk. Speed craw for action or rage craw. I like my jigs compact so I favor the chunk jr.
  20. I'd try looking at gander mountain or cabelas or bps. They are having online sales right now. Tackle warehouse is a good spot too.
  21. Cool man! They aren't as hard as ya think. But still I would use a mono around 12 to 14 lbs because it's easier to cast. Just cast smooth and easy.
