  1. You'll be skipping jigs in no time. Welcome.
  2. Rattletraps. Buzzbaits .... in black.
  3. Get comfortable with more techniques. Starting with the jerkbait. Tidy up my football jigging. Been awhile since I used it. Then start drop shotting. Get confidence in that. And also catch state record bass. Haha.
  4. Did she say it sarcastically???!!!!
  5. Looks like giant dace minnow
  6. Carolina rigs and football jigs. Chuck a mile.
  7. Alright. Pretty much a question just for the northern part of the country since we still got ice . The prediction I want you guys to make is... what is the first bait or lure you will catch a bass on when the ice thaws and your first time out?
  8. I got the promax 3. I like it. It's actually feels nice and smooth reeling and casting. Drag is a Lil choppy. If I take care of it it should last a long time.
  9. Zoom super chunk
  10. Bass will react to alot of patterns and colors I believe. The flash of white then chomp. But I still have better success with browns olives or gold colored crankbaits. But it is annoying Somtimes to keep hearing " use whites for shad". "Shad this shad that" haha
  11. Night temperatures usually I check in the forecast. If I see a week that is gonna have a few nights in the high 30s into the 40s then that weekend I'll drive to one of the local lakes and check it out. I also have a pond near my apartment, if that is melted then lakes are usually partially melted.
  12. Oh definitely a squarebill. Hit the cover then let it float a second then proceed to reel. Best way to catch em.
  13. "My FISHIN STUFF" Is always In her way and is driving her nuts...but she'll get used to it. Haha
  14. Oh no! Hope everyone is ok. I hate hearing stuff like that.
  15. First off I never knew that this stuff was as thin as it is. I spooled up 20 lb line on a jig rod just to mess around with inside the apartment. Ya know, to pitch to stuff. I heard this line was thinner than most but dang .015 for 20 lb line. To me it doesnt handle like a 20 lb line, more like a 14 or 15. I checked another brand that I love which is mccoy 17 lb fluoro, and that's .016. The knots ive tied with it lay nice though. I never used sunline fishing before so dont how it's abrasion or sensitivity is. When I first got it, I did saturate the spool with kvd line conditioner. But getting bored and already pitching to objects at my place. Hope I don't break anything. All n all I'm excited to try this brand out and see how strong it is.
  16. I would Probly paint up some transparent bluegill patterns. See how thin I can get my greens and browns and oranges. Get a crank that's as natural as it gets.
  17. Shore fishing tourney
  18. You could get away with it. The crankin stick is a composite. So if your throwing around cover like laydowns. A medium might not let ya pull the fish away from it.
  19. I would recommend abu garcia promax 3. Pretty sure its a metal frame too. Just got one and its pretty good for the fishing you'll be doing around pike. Those fish can mess up some reels. As for a rod I would look at house rods frome cabelas or gander mountain.
  20. Always two hands. Feel kinda uncoordinated casting with one hand.
  21. Bassmaster. But I would like to subscribe to bass angler
  22. With the Palomar try tightening by pulling the tag end of the knot. The uni knot works well.
  23. This fall I worked alot of hours so I had some money I could let go, so I decided to upgrade my rods. I bought three *** fishing omens gen 2.......2 MHF 7' 1" casting rod for jigs, texas rigs, and carolina rig. and a 6'7" MHF casting rod for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Then I got a barging rod for 30 bucks from ebay for a BPS cranking rod (an older model) that was a 7 footer but had a repaired broken tip which is now a 6'9" I figure I'll use that for my squarebills and medium divers. Then a gandermountain gsx tournament series medium fast I'll use for jerkbaits and topwater. Spring better come soon or I might be losing alot more cash! Haha. Cabin fever is hitting me hard. And it's only been a month.
  24. See I think that's kinda dumb. They should at least let ya fish ice out but don't keep anything. In Pa the only regulations we have pretty much is for stock trout. We need trout stamp on our license to fish for bass in trout waters. Haha makes sense. i can't KEEP a bass til June but I can still fish for them whenever. So you can't fish for bass till mid season?? I kinda feel bad for you. Never will you catch a prespawn giant.
