  1. Quick delete this so your boss doesn't find out
  2. I would say prespawn would be a larger profile. Post spawn smaller profile because of almost everything has spawned including forage fish, so lil ones are swimming about.
  3. I just say this cuz these laydowns been there for years. I went to the lake for the first time this year to find that 90 percent of the laydowns on this lake have been removed. Just kind of a shocker. Oh well I guess
  4. Why do resouviors and lakes get rid of wood laydowns. Just why?? Prime habitat gone. Just a rant I guess.
  5. I think a rod that you can cast accurately. I've used a mhf graphite 6'6" for squarebills and spinnerbaits. The fish hooked themselves. But casting was not accurate at all for squarebills. I've moved to a 6'6" bps crankin stick and it's very tippy but has a nice backbone. Very accurate with that... for the most part. That rod is a one show pony. I feel I can only use it for square bills and lighter cranks.
  6. Does an algae bloom effect the entire water column? Just the few feet on surface? How would you fish it? In Cold water. The lake I fished today seemed very very pea soupish. Bright bluebird sky.
  7. Was out last weekend for like... an hour so windy and cold. Did not see any life in the water. was fishing the tohickan launch area.
  8. I played middle infield for about 8 years...I learned to get out of the way. Scars on my legs to prove it. So did everybody else when I slid. These pro guys can't read the runner. Very easy to predict how they will receive the ball, which side of the bag they will throw. They just give the "cookie cutter" double play. Just like the catchers that block the plate without the ball and complain about getting run over. Baseball was a passion of mine and is getting really hard to defend these days. I understand they are trying to protect the players. Being a pro player, they should realize what they are getting into. I could go on but... I'll just get riled up
  9. Certain spots in the skuylkill river holds smallmouth. Long river, goes from above through berks county down to philly. I've caught smallies in the lower tulpehocken right below the blue marsh spillway. Wading? I don't know.
  10. Since ya say your new to it I would just back off the spool tension a Lil bit. Keep the brakes the same. Much less effort pitching the looser the spool. But until the thumb education gets down I would not back the tension all the way off.
  11. Yeah thanks! Just trying to find some clearer water to use it in.mostly everything is muddied near me. But I have time.
  12. Dakota lakes tackle. I've used him. So far I haven't had any bad ones yet. Did not get jerkbaits though so with issue with suspending I don't know.
  13. Chartreuse and purple skirts and double silver indiana blades. Hidden weight heads.
  14. Carp bite should be alright now
  15. Ehh just make a bunch of baits then sell them out of your trunk at a big local lake or tourney. Under the table cash. Just make sure they are great quality. Then you'll get a good reputation then they come back for more. Like an ice cream truck! but for...baits?
  16. Na. Jigs all year
  17. Many colors and I target cast with my spinnerbaits, I also cover Water too. Green pumkin with a yellow or orange belly, silver, yellow and black are my usual colors. Rarely white unless it's with the yellow.
  18. So far it's gonna be a chatterbait and a squarebill. Oh a flipping jig too. Not too bad. Learned not to fish chatterbaits through laydowns...haha.
  19. Yea somthin between 6'6" - 7' mh will be great whatever your comfortable with. I had a 6'6" mhf cheap daiwa rod that I did everything on. platstics jigs spinnerbaits buzzbaits even squarebills.
  20. Try corn or dough balls or worms to see if any fish are in there.
  21. Yea that's what I was going for.
  22. I thinking of getting a new spinning reel. It's between -revo sx 30 size -orra sx 30 size, but new or older model Just wondering your guys opinions. That size too big? Mixed reviews on the orras. Good reviews on the revo. Does the orras perform well ?
