I have never broken a rod that wasn't my fault! Conversely , I have never seen so many/ heard of So many broken rods.. As I have the last 5 years. My son broke 2 Avids of mine last year! It was his fault! Man one was a fave of mine.... But I toss those out... No warranty claim here.. He won't use any of my equipment now! He has to learn to care for things better than that. He has Still got rods and reels I have given to him.. Good Stuff too.... But now he can spend his money as he works, on his own equipment ... He will learn!

Yes.... 7" of rain roads are just now passable. Hope you get you're rod!! Must be a killer deal!

In about 1988 shimano had a 2 speed low profile freshwater baitcast reel... Back then I believe it was a bantam magnumlite ... Can't recall gear ratios... Magnetic braking... I nearly bought it but didn't ... To say the least,it was interesting ! Tom.. Do you recall this reel? Does anyone? Lol...

Yes... You can have you're cake and it it too! I think I really noticed the high speed/ power to boot in freshwater baitcast in about 2006 Truly the the 2 company's that can give you really fast speeds and power to pull high resistance baits are Shimano and Diawa I have owned the PT33SH 7.1 and PT33 in 3.8.1 The 7.1 had speed.. For sure.. but no power Conversely , the 3.8.1 had Power and was a slow ipt ratio.... Today's top manufacturer can give you super high speed and power in a reel! It is a awesome time period to watch manufactors engineer reels, to battle for profit... But also for pride! Shimano or Diawa ? I don't believe you can go wrong either way!

Swim jig trailers are Big hammer swim bait 3"-5" 3-5" curly tail grubs Kalins or power bait That is what I use and prefer.

Yep.... Loomis about as bad... As for me I get the Gl2 series... After registration... They send you a wildcard..... That card allows a one time over the counter at any loomis dealer... Anytime anywhere No time limit. St. Croix has become troublesome.. I still like the rods but... Yea it's more$ at warranty time..

More than likely right hand retrieve. It's just a guess ... I have more rightys.. But use left too.. I am right hand dominate.
