  1. I agree, imo owner makes the absolute best hooks on the market. Yes. Owner for the win.
  2. I would have let it spiral on down to the deep depths, no waste in the waterways (not wastewater’s or chemicals y’all) turtles gotta eat, flatheads etc. it happens unfortunately.
  3. I study world history along with many other things and I’ve been using/testing meta AI and it’s quite good and blazing fast..haven’t tried Grok yet though..
  4. If that is what you’re going to throw I’d just go with the 100 met. I have that one also. The ideal behind the custom shallow spool along with the tuned braking was specifically for lighter line and lighter baits. However with 1/2 to 5/8 baits the Metanium 100 with its stock spool will throw that weight a country mile. The 24 Shimano Metanium 100 also has brass gearing along with the MGL3 spool. They are sweet as well. Mine is 7.0:1 . Buy it from Japan, save money.
  5. Yup when they say it’s optimized for light rigs they mean it. I use it with a GLX 892c JWR and I’m guessing rod and reel together is about 9 ounces.. sweetest rig I own.
  6. Shimano Metanium 22 shallow spool edition.. Shimano 2022 Metanium optimized for light rigs 3/16 to 3/8 ounce. Magnesium alloy main frame and gear side cup Coresolid body construction Yumeya shallow spool Silky smooth, micro module gearing system ESD, extra strong duralumin drive gear Magnum Light 3 (MGL3) spool Improved SVS infinity, dial adjustable brake system Extra efficient X-SHIP gear system Sealed anti-rust ball bearings S-ARB Clicking star drag Super free spool design Silent tune bearing system Low sitting, small palming body Saltwater fine Made in Japan I have this and it’s awesome. Definitely throws light rigs easily.
  7. 🤣😂🤣 yea I can relate to the fishing partner portion of the reply lol
  8. Ya beat me to it! Nothing new to that @Goby in fact I believe there is a little science to the line tie vs hook point angle to aid hook sets.. tie it on and swing away!!
  9. Can’t see the hook real well but look for a smaller wire hook which will absolutely aid in hook penetration.. possibly move up in power/action on your rod as well. Ok. That’s a stout hook w a clip on it and FC line? On spinning gear.. that’s not the set up I’m using for that bait.
  10. Those are colors I use in my floating worm arsenal but I don’t use jerkbaits much.. southern waters tend to demand other presentations.. but I have been successful on some waters with a JB. My personal favorite would be a Lucky Craft pointer 100.
  11. I'd like to ask you a question. Over the years you have posted pics & videos of what I call “trophy smallmouth bass” What 1 lure has a clear advantage over all other artificial baits in all your trophy SMB fishes caught? Not in reference to jerkbaits only but all baits man made..
  12. Find different places to fish.. Hunting Superbucks isn’t much different than hunting a trophy LMB. You got to hunt where a Superbuck lives and you have to fish where trophy LMB live. (since it’s soon to be bow season 😂) Find new places to fish.
  13. Love the saltwater fishing in GOM, plenty of great fishing inshore.. trout, redfish and snookers lol. Last I went I didn’t catch a single snook, but plenty of trout, redfish, and the mighty ladyfish.. poor man’s tarpon 😂seems every time I try and make Tampa the red death shows up effectively ruining everything, I end up in Alabama. From Tampa & heading south into Longboat Key those big Tarpon are catchable, along with shark (not so much fun lol ) I’d gladly trade LMB fishing for the salt any day of the week. As far as your pictures , the only thing you’re missing is a Cuban cigar!! 😂 For some reason, busy water on the ocean doesn’t bother me the way it does on highland reservoirs. Maybe it’s because I just love the ocean idk.. I might have to break down and buy a kayak, it has become a pretty popular vessel these days.
  14. I know this is about Daiwa reels but insofar as magnesium is concerned, Shimano say’s their mag reels are saltwater safe. But then they say that about all of their reels 😂. As for me, I’m not using my Metanium reels in the salt, that’s where my Bantams come into play. 😁
  15. I upgraded a bunch this year or should I say updated.. I usually do every 3 to 4 years. About 4k.
  16. Haha reminds me of Rapala DT series, I quit using those years ago because the bills broke all of the time. Wonder if they improved them?
  17. I use those also, a very high quality and affordable price on tungsten
  18. I have tungsten, lead and ultra steel, ultra steel is as sensitive as tungsten and way cheaper. Occasionally they might rust a bit. But I don’t care because they are cheap.
  19. Yea I ordered two of the less than one foot models but they sent me one that runs 3 to 5 foot.. I’m really heavy on that range but that’s fine. Hoping the wake bait runs good that will be awesome.
  20. Any one tried these crank baits.. One is 0-1ft the other is 3-5foot. they kind of remind me of Bagleys old stuff. If you used them what are your opinions? The super shallow is 1/2ounce the other 3/8 oz… They are quite small in profile measures two inches.. I’m gonna try them if they do well I’ll load up on a few..
  21. The OP reads like a Saturday night skit! Appreciate the great laugh I got!! Lordy today 😂🤣😂 sorry dude but it was genuinely funny. better luck next time lol
  22. Is that the elaz type model? I already bought a restock but paid 10 bucks a pack ugh.. looking for a cheap knock off 🤣
  23. What’s a Googan revolver?
  24. I thought I’d add a little more on the 2500 Vanguard with the shallow spool. It is a JDM reel. It’s 5:3.1 gear ratio. I have a FL Stradic 3000c a Stradic 2500 FM I have a 4000 CI4+ the last year they made it. The 2500 Vanguard is a fine reel for light, even ultra light use. It is a 2500 size reel but of course the shallow spool mostly negates its use for serious bass work, the other thing it does have is a noticeably smaller handle than the Stradic FM2500. JDM reels always seem to come this way. It’s not a problem in that I use it as a light/ ultra light reel (as far as my use) I had looked at a 1000 Stradic FM and they are sweet little reels, I just prefer a larger model myself. That's it…in case anyone were to order one or wondered, just know it’s got a smaller than normal handle on it.
  25. Hey, they still make a fine rod despite a bunch of the Megabass fan boys and the negative comments 🤣😂🤣I like them very much and have owned many over the years. Still own a few now. I have an Edge rod that has a MBR rating and it’s a spinning rod! I use it in the Gulf of Mexico.
