  1. Around here the deer have backed out of soybeans & are now feeding in the Acorn stands. Corn comes into play later, with soybeans, oak then corn a distant 3rd. I quit using doe in heat years ago..
  2. Bill Dance.. Legendary fisherman.
  3. Sink the boat then call your insurance co.
  4. I didn't watch the vid, but I always would throw spinning & small ( Ned ) or 4" to 6" worm.. A jig worm.. And always do decently.. In spring when fish are aggressive & chasing good, throw a trap.. Fish behind your buddy with small stuff & catch fish he's missing.. It works!
  5. When you figure it out, please let me know. I've been trying to answer this for years.. It's a enjoyable hobby ( both ) and can be costly.. Still lots of fun, good luck on your build.. I love the AR platform myself..
  6. Hawgtech makes a awesome handle w options on grips or not.. Awesome customer service.
  7. Cool.. Glad you got the monkey off your back! Or should I say bait monkey? Hmm.. Good to see ya around Hootie..
  8. Zep, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Stones, The Dead.. Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, ACDC, Rush ( 2112 ) ELO, Eagles, Southern Rock bands.. My first 45 was Iron Man (A) Electric Funeral ( First LP was Led Zep 4 it had fantastic album art & was & still is a killer album.. Oh, Fleetwood Mac & Jim Morrison. Um, can I add one more? Lol, Iron Butterfly, In a Gadda Da Vida. Seems I read years ago it was suppose to be in a garden of Eden but the recording sounded otherwise..
  9. One of my favorite spinning reels of all time..
  10. Hello young man & welcome to the forums.. 1. Plastic Worm 2.Jig & Trailer 3. Rattle/Crankbait
  11. If Brady goes to Federal court over footballs, he may end up with perjury charges.. Glad to see Wayne stay in the game, he's a great player & sure to catch a deflated football, oops!
  12. Yup, Denver, your next superbowl champs. Agree, preseason always sucks.. Hey flyfisher, maybe the eagles can work a deal for RG3,lol
  13. Yea, I been griping about this for 6 weeks now, 2.90 for cheap grade here, 3.39 for super, ( whats super about that! )
  14. I would say you're good to go, I don't use braid for that, but many do. If you get hung on soft veg, just rip it out & hang on.. Lots of strikes happen this way.. Learned doing traps like that on lake fork.. It can be tiring to do all day though, but it's a killer way to fish traps at times..
  15. Another trick I learned from Doug Hannon while living in central Florida in the 80's.. I've used it in Florida & on Cumberland river in Kentucky.. (snag city) is cut a hook point off your bait, then pin the hooks with very small rubber bands..( holds hooks snug to body & it helps with snags ) also if the fish are eating it good, it will not affect hook ups..conceived of for large floating Rapalas in Hydrilla but works very well for crankbaits in the heavy brush too, ( when necessary ) believe me, even then, you will still lose baits on Cumberland river ( it's a tough area to fish ) Best wishes..
  16. Weather apps are fine, if you can get a signal.. If you spend much time on the water, you will get caught in bad weather. That's just the way it is..
  17. I know you want to use you're existing line size but if you drop to #10 you may hit the mark.. I know you will with #8. Or as reccomended the suspend dots, etc, or a different crankbait are in order..
  18. The A-Rig being banned from Tournaments I think has a play in it, plus folks seem to think of it as a pain to throw & crank.. It's a effective tactic at times though.. The market is saturated with baits of all types now.. Some baits never go out of style ( plastic worms, jig & trailer )
  19. #20 mono is your issue, heavy mono causes your bait to run much shallower than the specified depth.. ( it's a old trick of years gone by ) run those baits in #8 or 10 & you will hit you're mark. How far of a cast you make also will affect depth. A 40' cast simply doesn't have time to make it whereas a 100' cast will.. Good luck.
  20. How far is your cast? What pound test line? Braid or mono? A lot of variables to your issue..
  21. Well that's not exactly a expensive rod, no disrespect meant. Call abu up, tell them the truth & see what they say.. Then buy a Loomis GLX.. Or Croix V then say, ouch!
