I use the Eco Pro Tungsten Wacky Weights. They help keep the hook perpendicular to the worm and help the worm last longer. They also add just enough weight to help fish a wacky rig in a little more wind and/or a little deeper. As for a hook, I'll use a Trokar 2/0 weedless wacky hook unless I'm fishing pretty open water and then I'll just use a regular circle hook.

I've got 3 now. I was skeptical at first until I used it the first time. Killer action. I love the fact that you can get a nice erratic action without the bait moving as far in the water as a normal jerkbait. My first tourney of the year over on the Mississippi the Shadow Rap tore it up!

If my boat is in the water, both of mine are usually on unless I'm headed to the first spot of the day. Once I'm there the front unit gets turned on before the trolling motor is dropped in.

Try taking you sensitivity off of auto and turning it down a bit. I've got an HDS Gen2Touch that reads great in shallow water and an older Lowrance that before my built in tm tranducer started to die was just as good.

Depending on how old your t/m is an external one could help. I know when they first started building them in, they were rather weak transducers compared to regular ones that came with the locator. It's also possible that the transducer in the tm is no longer any good. Mine is on it's last leg, if I'm over too soft of bottom, or if there's any veggies between my tm head and the bottom I lose pretty much any reading at all.

I don't have either of those units, but I think I'd still go with the SI because if you learn to use it, it'll become an invaluable tool.

You can remove the spike entirely though when not in use. Not handy when you're going up and down with them all the time, but it's a nice feature when fishing out deeper or not using them often.

A very large percentage of the lake is standing timber. Not to say you can't catch fish flippin trees, because I'm sure you can. It just makes for some pretty broad advice when you're looking at multiple large sections of lake that look like this

Next time try killing your retrieve just as it comes up to the bed and then just slowly hop/drag it through the bed. That can be absolutely dynamite!

I go with the standard 2 in front 2 behind. It's the most comfortable for me so I stick with it.

As long as you can cast it, you can make it work. Being that you're doing just fine with those other applications that are usually in the same weight range, I think you should be fine.

It helped simplify things here. Everyone always wanted to be a boater because as a non-boater your chances are far less to actually make the cut. With it split now with boaters fishing against other boaters and non/boaters fishing against non it sort of levels the playing field. The non boaters can still make the classic although it's a little harder than being a boater, but they still have that shot, as well as the chances to win some awesome prizes.

I've got a LTB 7'2" M/M that I use for squarebills. I know there's a lot of people who say it's not stiff enough to use around cover, but I haven't had an issue whatsoever.

A 2000 to 3000 size reel is a perfect fit for that rod.

Bass, Bluegill, and catfish are all good eating fish. With the bass keep some of the smaller ones to help keep the population in check.

Trim and tilt would have probably still been an option on a 40 back then so I can't say and it should have an aerated livewell. Best advice is to let him know you're interested and go look it over.

You still find out who the best team is, because they still win. It doesn't matter if the conference is strong or weak, the best team will win and keep winning. The west was pretty tough this year, but you still find out that Golden State is the best team right now. If they weren't, they wouldn't have been knocked off.
