  1. No but I AM sure he gives all devilish desires. Like the desire to cast a light lure into the wind, for instance
  2. It's been a few years since I bought "latest and greatest". I'm in maintain mode now and happy to be here. I know what I catch fish on and I stick to it.
  3. I have a Mojo Glass Crank Rod I bought 3 or 4 years. The only rod I've ever purchased without holding one first. Hate it. Nothing about that rod fits my style of fishing and I do not enjoy using it in any way. It is NOT a rod issue. It's just a compatibility issue and one I learned a very valuable lesson from.
  4. I DO lose them. I'm a hardcore froggin guy and I will throw a frog into anything. I hang them up and destroy several each season. By several I do NOT mean 17. I think the most I've ever gone through in a season where at least HALF of my fishing is with a frog is 7.
  5. Go to? Naw but it's about 3rd or 4th in my bag of tricks. Bubblegum Stik-o's are always with me.
  6. H&H Spinnerbaits. I bought a whole bunch of them a few years back for right around a buck a piece off ebay. I throw other sb's but most of the time it's a good ol' single colorado blade H&H. They work well and who cares if you lose one. You get the added bonus of always, and I mean ALWAYS, putting the hook on wrong. I've had dozens of them and I bet I haven't put the hook on right 5 times...lol.
  7. I actually did have a smaller Pad Crasher Popping frog that I tied on early this summer that I hadn't thrown in a very long time. I give it a cast and the legs disintegrated. Guess what? I threw it anyway and it wound up being one of my most productivd top water lures of the summer. It was very squirrely in the water and would raise a ruckus. I wound up MAKING 3 more. I like them quite a bit. They act like a spook you can throw in the muck or in lily pad fields
  8. Whopper Plopper. I try, darnit, I try. 3 years of owning a couple....one dink. I've just about given up on it. Plenty of other baits that do work

  10. Scum Frog Trophy Series 5/8 Natural Black and Green. Learn it, know it, live it. Don't trim the legs or bend out the hooks. Tie it on, give it a high arc cast and let it PLOP right in the middle of that muck mat. Let it sit a bit and then start twitching it in. You can Sharpie an Orange stripe down the belly if you want. Also the eyes will come off. It doesn't matter.
  11. I honestly can't decide if I think this is genius or dumb. I'm tending towards genius!
  12. I used to use Normans until I decided I didn't actually hate myself. Now I use good snaps on Cranks. Nothing else
  13. There is simply nothing about this paragraph that is true. You say "try it"...I and a whole bunch of others on here do....every single time we go fishing. This isn't a personal attack on you, I'm just afraid you are very misguided.
  14. After a day of fishing, the bottom of my boat is covered in Senko tips I bite off. I'll use em until I can't use them anymore. Not really cheap, they just continue to work, so why not?

Most of the time, I don't know why I even bother with taking my tackle. If I have a Green Pumpkin Texas rig and a Frog, I'm good.
  16. I used to think this too. The water I fish is green so how could fish see it. I used mostly White and Bubblegum. They worked (and still do) but I just felt like I wasn't doing as well as I could. So I tried what so many people use. Green pumpkin. NOW I throw two basic colors. Green pumpkin/blk flake (tip-dipped in JJ's) and Blue/Black flake (also JJ's dipped). My catch rate tripled. They work. At least for me. I became a believer.
  17. I'm down to buying just Stik-o's. Anything else I need, I can elsewhere cheaper
  18. I realize I literally CAN'T respond to this without sounding like a crotchety old man so to heck with it. The only question I have is why? No offense but I can't imagine sitting and watching a high school kid fishing and talking about his "technique". I'll watch Glenn or one of the old pro's teach technique because they have experience and knowledge that I desire to have. I actually considered making a froggin video one time and then realized that I have nothing to offer that isn't already on a thousand other videos and I would feel ridiculous doing it AND wouldn't enjoy the fishing which, to me, is the whole point. This would probably be unthinkable to you or your generation but I don't even *gasp* CARRY MY PHONE when I'm on the water. Meh...sorry. For all I know, you might be the next KVD and I'm an idiot but I would most likely still not watch your videos. Not because of you as a person, but because I have no reason to. Now get off my lawn and go fishing. ps......Leave your phone in the car or at home next time. You might find you like fishing even more without the distraction.
  19. Rock on, Brother. May you find the exact thing you are looking for. Just as an FYI.....I bought a Mojo Cranking rod a few years ago without first holding one. Have never liked that rod. I mostly throw cranks on an old BPS Extreme rod. It is NOT the "right" rod for the job but it sure feels good to me.
  20. What's wrong with it? Nothing. I'm not arguing with anyone and I agree with everything you said. I was also just trying to reassure a guy that there is nothing wrong with liking and using less expensive equipment. He preferred the action of the Berkley so what's wrong with the Berk? In the end, I don't care, in any way, what he or anyone else is using. They happy, I'm happy.
  21. What's wrong with your Lightning Rod? You like it, you're comfortable with it, and I'm assuming you're catching fish. Use gear you like and don't worry about the price or how "High End" it is.
  22. I would call that a general purpose rod. Not much (other than the heavy stuff) you can't do with it.
  23. Agreed. I've just about given up bullet weights. These things are the shiz-nizzy. I don't have a river like that but my little lake I fish does have rip-rap on the dam. These things hop all over that stuff with no problem. As far as down trees.....please. Go look at the pictures I posted of my little local in the "Ranting about Pleasure boaters" thread. That lake is FULL of limbs and trees and stumps. I RARELY lose these.

As much as they irritate me, I'd have to go BPS. You'd have everything you need. Wouldn't be the best of anything but it would be ok.
