  1. Good to see young kids eager to bass fish. theirs alternatives you can buy when it comes to fishIng sure those spros are nice but other cheaper ones catch fish to
  2. Checked mine out the other didn't have much and most stuff were only 50 cents to a dollar off
  3. I love the kvd jerks lots of action on the rip and when I'm lazy I can always just reel stop and go still has plenty of side to side movement. just kinda pricey. I use smithwickS unless the fish want a lot of darting. The fish in my profile pic was caught on a kvd jerk lol
  4. last year I had just bought one of the king cat combos from cabelas and on the first trip. Used a tree branch to hold my rod up, I was 10 foot away jigging for bluegills when I heard the bells on my catfish rod jingle. Turned around and saw my new combo go into the water.
  5. did the same thing lucky I was in shallow water and got my rod back, since then I put floats on all my rods.
  6. I just soak mine in mean green for a few minutes. It's just a degreaser. then rinse it off in warm water and dry it.
  7. Powell diesel when on sale is around that range. I use mine for square bill, lipless, and medium divers.
  8. I was curious because I read somewhere saying you want a little slop on a cranking reel not sure if it matters.
  9. is there any back play in the reel at all? just curious
  10. yup kast masters and dare devil spoons for trout and white bass
  11. Cool I've only been using lipless and swim jigs. Need to try punching.
  12. Do you punch this the same as you would emerged grass? Can't find many vids on how to attack this with a punching setup. I've only been using swim jigs and lipless cranks. Feels like I'm missing a lot of fish that sit thight under these grass mats.
  13. How do they compare to other rods in that price range
  14. Check and see if your spool tension is loosening up on you. I had a shimano that did that. Threw a little grease on the threads and it was good.
  15. It sounds cool swooooshhh. Lol easier to cast with I don't see Much improvement in distance only when I'm throw light stuff on my ch50s do I notice further cast. and I would not reccomend ceramics if your thumb controll is Not good. Backlash are nasty
  16. I throw a lot of red Eye and diamond shad by strike king. Catch me a lot of grass and branches but when the get hit boy it's fun. Read somewhere about the spro might order some to try heard you can burn them with out it rolling on one side
  17. On shore I love it on a yak I hate it unless the wind is calm. Even being anchored the position of your rod is changing due to the sway. Kind of hard for me since I like to work a ds really slow
  18. When they are like that I let some slack out as soon as I feel a bite and watch my line carefully. I usually feed line out until I think its got the hook in. Just so the bass doesn't feel any resistance. But don't wait to long or you'll gut him them.
  19. I got a ocean kayak trident 13. It's light enough I can car top it myself. Yet it holds my 300 pound a$$ plus all my gear and a six pack keep looking kayak fishing is fun man. And these new canoes and kayak are wide body so they're pretty stable. Still haven't flipped yet even when I got hit by some waves from a boat that came flying by 20 foot from me.
  20. Cabelas cheap braided scissors work great for me. They are small enough to fit in my shirt pocket and the tips are rounded
  21. A lot of mixed reviews haha but seems both work. Now I just have to wait and see which one goes on sale first haha. After taking a closer look the hedgehog one looks pretty easy to machine. But Dang 40 bucks haha.
  22. I'm stuck on which one to get has anyone used the hedgehog spool bearing pin remover? I was thinking about getting one since I got some new bearings coming in for my reels. Scared I'll bend my spool shaft with the Boca spool pin pliers.
  23. I used to use this for bluegills haha using live worms. Make sure you use the round ones not the reusable ones
  24. Prefer chatter in stained to dirty water over Colorado blade spinners as well. If the the blade stops vibrating on your retrieve 50/50 your on a fish. Plus for me it's easier to burn a chatter then it is to burn a big Colorado spinner
