  1. Not sure if the spool tension knob as a spring in it like my shimanos but sometimes after I clean the bearings I place the spring in wrong, you could try taking the knob off and check it
  2. If that's how the lake is then I would just key in on bigger fish. I have a few where I go to catch dinks, and one or two that I know holds big fish. Catching is fun but I don't mind just fishing lol.
  3. Have you've talked to any local boaters and see how they do? Only a few would tell you the truth but doesn't hurt to ask
  4. I mostly bank fish as well, i just cover all three water columns and if no fish/bites then i move on to another spot. Ands it depends on what time of day your fishing, I know from the Lakes I fish that when boat traffic is bad or mid afternoon it's time to go finesse. Experiment with what time of day you catch fish, start memorizing the baits, structure, water column, time of year, other little things that land you fish and soon you'll have a pattern.
  5. that morning bite must be hot I've been to lazy to fish the mornings
  6. When it comes to strippers and hybrids I'll use live bait over lures. Casting a net sucks but man when they hammer your shad and peel off line can't beat that feeling
  7. And life vest
  8. Waders lol
  9. Acme little cleos. Small fly on a weight and bobber
  10. Mono line might be damaged if left to long
  11. I like senkos for pitching and worms for long cast dragging and hopping
  12. Nope tungsten cost to much I go swimming for my worm and punch weights if I can
  13. Yeah that's what I thought. Had a small one get wrapped in the grass and I had to pull it in by hand must of been 7 pounds of grass stuck to that little bass.
  14. So if I'm shore fishing do you think I can punch that thick grass? Been to windy to take the kayak out and I'm boatless
  15. Welcome to the forum, back when I was younger I made a few because I was a survival nut but only made them out of nails and what not lol. I think there's a reason why hooks are so pricey and manufacturers only profit because they pump them out in the hundreds of thousands. I'd imagine to get a setup just to make a few hundred hooks you can have enough money to buy what hooks you need for life lol
  16. Nice cat, mouths are like sand paper lol
  17. I like the mosquito hooks but came across some circle hooks cheap been using them and haven't really noticed a difference
  18. So anyone used these yet? Would like to hear some opinions be for committing to buy.
  19. Good lipless cranks, I like the lvrto more. What I mainly use the lvr for is ripping out of grass but I find that my cheap strike kings and rattle traps work just as good. Still a good deal I think I paid 7 bucks for mines a few months ago
  20. Tried it once failed then gave up lol. One of these days I'll spool on some cheap mono and go practice
  21. Kansas we have one last time I checked you needed a picture as proof. My cousin sent in one for rainbow trout he said all they sent him was a piece of paper lol. It would be cool to get a master anglers award for every fish and frame them
