I just slide my hands under the pants and grab my butt cheeks to poor to afford gloves and warmers Jk lol. I use these fleece ones that are finger less but have a mitt attachment, so old I forgot what brand they are, picked them up at Wal-Mart for 5 bucks.
  2. Cabelas have random sales on different brands throughout the year, you'll have to check in store don't forget to hit up the bargain cave, most items aren't that great but sometimes you come across sweet deals
  3. I used reel magic on some cheap sinking braid and it just absorbed it and made it stiff. Won't do that again as for fluro and mono I couldn't tell the difference. Might try kvd this year
  4. Yup catch lots of dinks with those Wacky rigged
  5. I bought the old model at cabelas last year or late the previous year. You can check online and have it shipped to the store or order off tackle warehouse (free shipping on orders over $50)
  6. Cool thanks guys its free wood if I get bored I might mess with it. If not fishable it can still decorate the Christmas tree lol
  7. I only ask because I have a butt load available. Did a Google search and people said most 2x4 were fir?
  8. Tackle goes in a backpack and two rods in each hand, it sucks having to set expensive stuff on rocks and dirt.
  9. I second the keitech fats they aren't as durable as other boot tails but man they catch fish on a slow retrieve or falling motion
  10. I was going to pick one up but couldn't find any reviews
  11. If your only sticking to one manufacturer your missing out. I own lews, shimanos,Abu,and daiwa reels and love them all though some do get used more than others.
  12. Berkley power bait lol. Works for the stocked lake trout here, you could try drift fishing it. Fluoro line definitely
  13. Very nice I like!
  14. Powder paint is Great, I use a heat gun, but if your doing small jigs a candle is fine. Haven't done to much bass jigs but I've done a few dozen small crappie jigs from 1/64 to 1/16. The tricky part is evenly heating it without the lead melting. Heat gun might be safer then a torch lol
  15. you guys know where i can get a lake contour or depth map of the dotte? mostly bank fish or kayak when weather is good. thanks
  16. Do right and left hand reels use the same spool? Not sure if the specs are different for right and left models

    Welcome!
  18. Before I heard of the Ned rig I would cut my torn senkos in half and put it on a small darter jig head, worked it in open water with a slow twitch pause retrieve, the smallies hammered them.
  19. Sometimes I can't get a bite from other brands and sometimes it doesn't matter. But yama senkos are always in my fannie pack or back pack haha
  20. Again thanks guys, one of my winter projects is to put together a light casting outfit. Can't wait to test it out next year on the water.
  21. I'm want to hear your guys thoughts on wether a upgraded chronarch 50e (bearings, shallow spool, super tunning) can compete with let's say a stock pixy or alderbaran bfs xg, at casting light lures under 3/16 oz. I have the 50e all trying to decide if I want to upgrade or buy a new reel.
  22. I try to use the same diameter filler as the main line. Just fill it up full with filler and go make a cast the cut off 10 to 20 extra feet and spool on my main line. If you don't have the same diameter lines just compensate by adding or removing filler line. Smaller main line equals more filler, bigger main line = less filler, hope that gives you an idea.
  23. Ok thanks guys. I was worried about stuff flying off. Didn't know if I needed a special tool
