  1. Welcome to Bass Resource and thank you for Letterkenny.
  2. Congratulations! ”Success is more enjoyable when you have someone to share it with.” - Shoresy
  3. A 3” to 3.5” paddletail on a ball head jig is probably my #1 confidence bait. On the river I fish this catches smallmouth in warmer water and walleyes in colder water. I throw one every time I fish Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter.
  4. You lost me on this one. I can’t imagine lying in my death bed thinking “I wish I wouldn’t have fished so much!”
  5. Sorry Mother Nature, the tag end I’m snipping off hits the ground every time.
  6. @MAN Which Trigon models have you fished with? What do you find awesome about them?
  7. I have 15# braid to 10# FC leader on one of my spinning rods and use uni-to-uni knot. 3 wraps on FC knot and 5-6 wraps for braid knot. Gets the knots about the same size and it doesn’t fail.
  8. I use a small flat diamond file and have had good results with different brands. I’m currently using a 2-sided file from Bass Pro. As for how to sharpen I watched some videos on YouTube, Glenn’s video here on BR, and practiced at home. I snag in rocks constantly in my home river and resharpen a dull hook in less than 15 seconds. It’s well worth learning how to do IMO.
  9. You can put me in the “loosen the drag after every trip” camp.
  10. Impossible for me. I fish a shallow river and the water is rarely deeper than 4 feet. The smallmouth I hook ALWAYS jump because they have nowhere else to go. I’ve used @Team9nine suggestion of pulling the fish over at the beginning of the jump with some success.
  11. The uni-to-uni isn’t the “wrong” choice, it’s a “different” choice. The wrong choice is using a connection knot you can’t tie perfectly EVERY time.
  12. If baseball ceased to exist my life wouldn’t change a bit. SUPERBOWL!!!! ?⬇️ and FTP!!!
  13. Welcome to Bass Resource Kevin. ?⬇️
  14. @Blue Raider Bob Why are you specifically singling out immigrants as the source of the littering? In my experience littering is a human problem, not an immigration problem. YMMV
  15. Welcome to Bass Resource. I was born and raised in WI, now from WV. I fish smallies and walleyes in a river here.
  16. I’m braid + leader guy on a spinning rod so have no opinion on best straight fluoro. But if you are using up your whole leader after re-tying only 3x you might reconsider a couple things: 1) Use a longer leader. 2) Use a different terminal knot that wastes less line. My leaders start at 3 feet long and I won’t tie on a new leader until it gets less than 12”. When I retie with a Trilene knot I only waste about 3 inches of line and it takes a long time to whittle it down.
  17. My buff is made by Buff. The bottom tucks into the collar of my shirt and the top wraps around the back of my hat covering my ears. The holes in front of my nose and mouth keep my sunglasses from fogging. Gloves are from Fish Monkey and are fingertip-less. My long-sleeve shirt has a hood. NOT TODAY SUN!!! ☀️☀️☀️
  18. I fish a shallow rocky snaggy river with an open-hook jig head. Yesterday in 5 hours I resharpened the hook 20x (at least). Instead of 20 “bad” jig heads, I had only 1 that I couldn’t successfully sharpen. Sharpening is way faster than retying, so I made more casts, caught more fish AND saved about 10 bucks. If I fish once a week I will save $500 annually. Sounds like a benefit to me!
  19. A Baby Rage Menace on a light open hook jig head is money!
  20. Boss replies “What? I thought you were home sick?!?!?”
  21. Same… or when I need to clear some weeds from my bait.
  22. I fish walleyes FOR SPORT every year from November - April. I don’t eat them, every fish is released. While it’s true they are not the hardest fighters, a 16+” walleye in river current on a ML spinning rod will give you PLENTY of pull back!
  23. I’ve never personally done it but I’ve seen multiple segments on In-Fisherman with Doug Stange catching smallmouth on flutter spoons.
  24. Location Location Location I’m experiencing just the opposite in the river I fish. The last 2 years have been better than the previous couple years because my smallmouth population is improving.
