Trig on a 3/0 gammy ewg, weight of your choice. Colors....glacier,watermelon red,black and blue. This bait does great in all the metioned approaches. This year it was a weapon on a river my club had 2 tournaments on. I hurt em on it pitching to laydowns on outgoing tide. I was the only one throwing it. The rest of the club was throwing smallie beaver type baits. I won both tournaments easily bc the menace was HOT

Early on I would work the edge quickley with top water, spinnerbait, swim jig,weightless plastic, maybe a swim bait. As the sun moves higher start pressing in on the vegetation. Flip n pitch. Swim jig.

Rage

Bend it open and put on the trailer, then bend it closed. The little bend at the end will grab the trailer. No threading the plastic on the keeper and it does not mess up my rage craws. Or better yet go with dirty jigs or seibert and bypass it all together. They both make a way better jig anyway

No worries bud. It means that the job calls for a knife and you would be using a spoon. Calls for a shovel and you have a sledge hammer, ect. You can get by with alot of things to get a job done, but if you had the right tool for the job it would save you alot of aggrevation and time.

I agree with the few that said it sounds like the saw blade thing under the main gear is backwards.

If you want to take your boat you have good bass fishing 20 min or less away by land or sea. It will be salty water leading to brackish water. The crabbing and rock fishing will have to be monitored proir and up to departure. Close by you will have the marshy hope river, the nanticoke river, black water. They are all decent places to bass fish. I have heard that the area you are in has great scenic river boat rides for the family but i would have to ask my buddy about that. I think you are also close to the honga river and decent flounder fishing

Have to get one to eat to make sure they are bass, after mystery 1 is solved what is most important? Getting something down to them and presenting it to find out what is making them tick. I would test a carolina rig craw for sure. If you c rig, t rig, and drop shot and still have not gotten one to eat i would question the species and decide how much more time is too much.

Wish I would have gone back there this year. I did 3 years straight in sept for vacation. I was getting familiar with areas near timberloft and holy cross. Good chance i am back next sept....with no power at the floating docks how do the bass guys charge their boats? Pull em daily and pay each day to launch?

Not that there is anything " wrong " with it. Its just a blunt tool and with all the options available today there is no reason to have a blunt tool in my humble opinion. We have all sorts of materials, actions, lengths, grips, colors, ect to choose from. If you want a tank of a rod thats biggest seeling point is that you can run it over with a truck than by all means go ahead. I didnt like em when I was 10 and I dont like them now. There are too many other products out there that do a much better job. Its my opinion and I stand with it.

I grew up (7-14) years old fishing pork with my dad. Trimming it certain ways for different action n all. Then it went away and i have never seen it come back. Do they even still make UJ in the small bottles?

sb0....since your needs are at both ends of the spectrum you will have a hard time finding equipment that does either side very well. Your canal and lake stuff wont survive long on your buddies boat or off a pier specially in FL. Salt down there eats gear lol. If you have to have your gear be hybrid i would talk with a shop in your area about trout set ups. I think those guys use 7 or 7-3 MH spinning rods, 25lb braid and 15lb fc leaders. I have seen them throw clacker rigs, jigs and shrimp, DOA lures, mirro lures, and top waters. All things that translate to similar things in fresh water. Its the only way i see you being able to balance fresh and salt while having fun with smaller fish and being able to handle something larger. Please dont buy ugly sticks. No offense but they suck and with everything you have available today there is just no need. Sorry just my opinion. Good luck with finding your set ups .

Either way the topic was vs. At this point to stay on topic graphite wins for me. Its nice to have the change of pace on board though.

I have one. I use it in a totally different way than my glass rod. Its alot more accurate so I use that for pinpoint casting SB crankbaits. Having the glass rod loaded up with another crankbait gives me depth and presentation options that I am finding i like.

I have only fished 1 glass rod for crankbaits and its been a month or so. I am still out on what i think. The things i can say so far are that it bombs crankbaits, the whippy feel is for me not for target casting SB cranks but in open water its all good, and when you hook up you should boat it lol....keeps em pinned crazy good. At this point my graphite rods do the some of the same techniques and are much more versatile, but it is nice to have a crankbait tied on that glass rod freeing up my graphite rods to do what needs to be done.

This was in interesting spin out. It does bring to light only a few really look into the rod specs when making a purchase and the others would be more happy buying off recommendation tallys. I liked the comment about being balanced. If you take some time on tackle tour and read reviews on rods and make a educated choice in the area of weight you want to be in and mate that with a reel that for lack of better terms dissappears onto your new stick you are going to be really happy fishing it all day.

Hmmmm perhaps I have to give sniper a shot and see whats goin on. I really liked the feel of the assassin. For my 1st go round with sunline it may have created a monster. I was fishing the kvd xps and it was the 1st FC that i was happy throwing so i used it this whole season and caught alot of fish on it. The bass pro 10 min from my house did not carry sunline.....until last friday.
