there was something on either nat. geo. or history about absinthe and it is gaining major popularity in france and other parts of europe. there was this guy whose great grandfather was an absinthe maker that got shut down and moved to america. this guy found a recipe in a safety deposit box and moved to europe to make it. pretty nostalgic and aristocratic drink. not so sure about the hallucinogens. the only affects of absinthe ive seen first hand didnt turn out to be pretty.

went to wal mart today to get some hooks worms and weights. and i picked up a bionix rod and quantum spinning reel that was red tagged. so its a start. its definatly an excuse to shop but im prone to go overboard when it comes to buying equipment. i think im whats known as an "impulse buyer." im off to ebay to look for a baitcasting set up.

a couple of weeks ago i left my tackle bag and other boxes at someones house expecting to go fishing within a few days and some cold weather came through so we postponed it. the storage room got robbed. my tackle bag, my x-tools grip-n weigh. along with their lawnmower, 4wheeler and a golf cart. i cant stand this caliber of people. > > so now im fishing out of a bass pro shopping bag.

it was not the temeratures that killed the bass. the temperatures killed of some algae or other microbial lifeform. this changed to oxygen levels and the fish couldnt take it.

the temperatures alone did not do it...some microbial life form died off from the temps and the oxygen levels changed. it is a 64 (?) acre pond and we walked about 250 to 300 yards of shoreline. bluegill, crappie, stripers, hybrids and grass carp. the crappie seemed to to okay.

i tried to post this a while ago around 12 am one night and hit post but it was maintenance mode so my post went into lala land. i got so mad i didnt come back for a week but its good to be back. among the approximatly 200 fish we encountered here were the biggest. this is what happens when it goes from 32 degrees daily to a week straight of 70's then back to 30's i made the mistake of bending over to put my rod next to it smelled like on a bunsun burner this one has a crank in it (revenge is sweet) this one was easily over 12 coons got the better of this one. edited to delete repeated photos
