Fat tax
All men, women, and children are indeed created equal. It's how we decide to treat our bodies after that.

Age is irrelevant when you obviously see people who have stated they won't excercise and have no wish to be thinner or healthier. If I'm in any way encouraging people to stay obese by paying for their health insurance, I have every right to view them with my discretion. And no, I don't know it all. I'm 17 years old, but I'm willing to give an opinion. It's sad to see age is being drug into a valid argument.

It's About Time - Leadership At My School
Well, today marked the first day of my senior year at school. The past year was quite an experience, to say the least. We began the year with a new principal who had previously been a coach, but had no experience at being a principal whatsoever. Everyone liked him, and he was a huge hit with the students, but lacked much needed leadership at the time it was needed most. Our year started off with a rash of bomb threats (7 total during the year) called in by approximately 3 students out of 1100 that attend our high school. Unfortunately, this eventually led to a hammering down of mass punishment. Instead of getting to the root of the problem and trying to find out who solved it, our leadership chose the easiest route of punishing the entire student body by cutting our lunch and restricting access to only the commons area. Students struggling in certain subjects couldn't get the necessary tudoring they needed at lunch, and clubs weren't able to meet (including the Teenage Republican Club, which I am now the Chairman of). The student council attempted twice to meet with the administration and work out a solution, but was turned down by the principal. This scheduling lasted for over a month and was finally revoked. However, several more bomb threats were called in later in the year, and when the administration once again attempted to install the scheduling, students responded. A walk-out ensued with over 600 of the 1100 students in the school participating. You would think this would show the dissatisfaction of the student body with the leadership. It didn't. The administration, once again bypassing the obvious need to get to the root of the problem, chose to re-install the schedule for another two weeks. At the end of the year, the principal and two vice principals resigned (in my opinion, was forced down by the school board). We began today with hesitation at the 3 new principals- a principal and two VPs. I was greatly pleased to hear a special assembly called where the administration stated that a new set of rules are going to be followed by all, and that none of the administration believed the entire student body should suffer over the actions of a few, but instead harsh punishment would ensue to the student who caused the problem. I am hoping that my final year at the high school will go off good, and that true leadership will finally take hold at our school.

But see, I'm not for charging for people in your position. It really all comes down to the definition of "obese." In my opinion you don't fit the obese category. Obviously, some have problems out of their control and have no way to harness their weight, whereas some feel they can destroy their body however way they please, and don't care at all about diet or excercise.

Didn't 49 of the 50 states, except West Virginia, predict the Sooners to beat the 'Eers in the Fiesta Bowl? 8-)

Hunter education poll
Absolutely not. 9 years old is far too young for a kid to be in the woods by himself. No way in the world can someone not even 10 years old could be responsible enough to carry a loaded weapon. It wouldn't matter how responsible a kid could be, 9 years old is still far too young. I think the minimum should be at least 13 years old. As far as supervised hunting, I think 9 years old is fine.

Hunting Question - Curious For Responses
Hey guys, I heard this question on a local message board and thought it would be interesting to see what you guys would do. If this year when squirrel season opens you go into the woods and would happen to see a wounded deer, bear, turkey (if not eaten all ready) or any other animal that is not in season and it is hurt to the point you feel it will die, would you put it out of it misery? Or would you call a game warden? Keep in mind the animal would be suffering. This has not happened to me, just a hypothetical question.

$200 for speeding?
I'm wondering what happened to this "Westpalmdude", and just who is "Tallydude" anyway? ;D $200 is pretty steep, but I mean how fast were you going? If it's just a few miles over, that seems ridiculous, but if you were speeding quite a bit, well, not much to say.
