  1. Have you seen what bass live in in okachobee??? It's gonna be way harder on the fisherman than the fish.
  2. Scattered slightly with miola, doco, miola over the next 3 weeks. lol
  3. Took the kids and wife to breakfast, followed up by a trip to home depot to get some material for "honey do's". Made the family's favorite dinner and watched some movies. Kept it pretty simple this year.
  4. Lot's of guys may bash this, but the absolute best combo I have used for spinnerbaits and bladed jigs would be a 6'10" MH H20 Ethos rod paired with a H20 Mettle baitcaster spooled with 12-15lb big game. You can get the combo for under $100 and they work perfectly for this. If anything ever breaks, take it back to Academy Sports and you are in and out in 5 minutes.
  5. Not sure how you catch 6-7 sunfish on a freaking spook, but whatever. lol.
  6. Fantastic smallies man! (said drooling all over the keyboard!)
  7. That's awesome man! Pretty quick and painless class that you won't have a problem getting through. (Judging by your attention to detail and persistence) Most of it is common sense, although it's not that common anymore. Proud of you (not trying to sound like a tool) for grasping and inserting yourself into the outdoors without the upbringing in it! Post up pics of that hunter ed card when you get it, then the deer you get in the fall!
  8. Yes it was! The two little ones to my left in pink tank tops are mine. The others were participants of the cookout and one neighbor boy. lol. It was a blast!
  9. X2... I always know I'm lying to myself though... considering no rolling head shakes and/or no slime on the line...
  10. Had a good day on Sunday. We (the wife, kids and I) went to my aunt and uncles house over by Raintree Lake in Lee's Summit for a cook-out. They had invited several other people from church, so I was all too happy to slip out the back door and hit the pond behind their house. It wasn't long before I had some "followers" lol. My kids were the only ones there that had actually gone fishing and have caught fish before. The other kids said they had gone, but never caught anything. Needless to say they were anxious to give it a go, and I was all to happy to try and help. We decided the best bet was to have them line up beside me, I would hook the fish and they would reel it in, hold it for a photo, and release it themselves. It took some convincing to get some of them to actually hold the fish, but they all had a blast and I have to say, it was an amazing experience for me as well!

  12. We had a similar experience Saturday Brian. We probably boated 40 fish from daylight until 11:30. Wind really picked up as the day went, but the usual suspects were still catching them. 1.0, tube, spook and Adam was doing some serious work on with the pompadour. (R.I.P. Pompadour lol) Over all the 1.0 actually caught the least amount of fish, which was really surprising considering the amount of fish it usually catches. We had several big fish came unbuttoned at the boat, and we had some BIG followers as well. I would think the cooler weather this week will get them to wolf pack up a little more and start the feeding frenzy back up.
  13. A simple post in the flea market such as "WTB" (Wanting to buy) is in order for such things. Then the rods come to you. Pretty simple really. People that want certain threads could easily start a thread saying "striper thread", "saltwater thread", "trout thread". It would be no different than how the different location threads have more specific areas inside them. Do that. If it takes, good for you. If it doesn't, the mods will send it packing!
  14. Strike king bitsy tube
  15. Daddy like!
  16. They make accessory recessed trays as well. I'd do just like you said and slide it forward, add in a brace the the back side, the put an accessory tray behind that.
  17. Waiting to feel the fish is a dangerous game. A big fish will either spit it, come towards you, or bury in the thick stuff making your hookset crap. If the frog disappears, set the hook. One thing I do is trim the legs down short. ( most of my frogs only have 1-2" legs.) As said above, put braid on but if you had 30 blow ups and you didn't touch a single fish when you swung, something else is wrong. I'm thinking extreme dinks, or not bass.
  18. I've fallen in love with the Yum Christie Craws
  19. When are you coming? You can find some submerged grass in the Gravois but it will be dead in a month.
  20. Man, I have no experience there but I'd drag a tube, burn a lipless, fan cast a 1.0 squarebill, Zara spook. If that doesn't produce anything, go watch fishing on tv.
  21. Thanks guys!!

  23. Fishing is getting ready to get tough before long buddy. It's getting to be that time of year where the water is unstable. Ponds will get hit first with it. Don't worry, it'll pick back up.
