  1. I would think it can handle baits up to 2oz or so. Any more could be taxing on the gears.
  2. Step #1 - Don't speak too much bull
  3. Is the colors on the rod correct? Are the guides correct? I highly doubt the *** would sell counterfeit rods.
  4. I've ordered from them a few dozen times... JDM reels carry no warranty in the US. So if you need a part, you'll have to buy the part. It's kind of the offset for saving money with the currency exchange rate.
  5. It's worked just fine for me the last 3.5 years. My wife and I are fortunate enough to have enough money to buy the things that we want (within means) without having to worry about. She knows that if I buy a new reel/rod/gun/whatever, then it means that I have funds to make that purchase and still pay the bills. Same goes for her whenever she buys whatever it is that pleases her.
  6. It's easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.
  7. TJ's Tackle, specifically their eBay store as it seemed to have the best deal. 2" Fluid bed with 2 cups and 2oz. of chartreuse powder paint. - $35.99 + $9 shipping
  8. Powder Paint Working on a few new powder paints and techniques while I wait for my fluid bed to arrive. I tried the makeup brush trick to sprinkle an accent color on while it's still hot. L to R: Watermelon pepper Junebug Black blue flake w/some junebug on top Watermelon pepper w/orange flake Pearl w/ watermelon pepper on top
  9. There are plenty of knockoff blanks from this bait mold out there. I have a buddy who custom paints and he sells a lot of them. Get a hold of Fulks Custom Cranks. He has a website and Facebook page.
  10. The Rythym Wave is a great swimbait. I've had days where it's outproduced my partner who was throwing a Keitech. It's got a little more subtle wiggle to it as it swims.
  11. Any 8, or now 9, carrier braid is going to be pretty smooth. Pick your favorite brand and have at it.
  12. The 7'2" H is such an awesome do everything rod. It and my Dobyns Champion 734 are my two most used rods because of how versatile they are. If you have the dough, buy both, because they're that good of a stick.
  13. Here's my input, as we seem to own a few similar sticks. I use a Dobyns Sierra 735 for frogging, but I wouldn't mind a Champion 736 for this purpose if a deal came along. I own the Extreme 745 as well, and I'm sure it would work great for frogging as well, but mine is used as a bottom contact rod. I also own the Expride 7'2" Heavy and it's an awesome all around heavy powered rod. It would work great for flipping and texas rigs for you. It's also great for Keitech's on a 3/8-1/2oz jighead, as well as spinnerbaits and heavier squarebills. As far as frogging, it's not a rod you would want to use in the heavy slop. I have used mine for open water popping frogs, but I certainly wouldn't want to use it in heavy weeds. I have read from numerous people online that the 7'3" XH Expride is the quintessential frog rod. So if you want to use it just for frogging, I'd go that route.
  14. A rooster tail in 75FOW?!
  15. This one should be coming up every day between now and the 29th...
  16. Maybe it's just because I'm a young buck, but with technology these days, I can read online or ask guys online how certain rods and/or reels pair up together. It's a great time to be alive.
  17. TJ's is who I was likely going with. They seem to have the best deal right now.
  18. With your budget, the Chronarch MGL is going to be your best bet from the US market. If you're willing to buy JDM, the Scorpion MGL or a Bantam MGL are going to the be the best in your price range.
  19. So I bought my toaster oven, heat gun, and some powder paint and tried my hand at painting my own jigs this weekend. I quickly realized why everyone says to get a fluid bed. Too much powder, too little powder, running during baking, clogged eye's, etc. etc... So I'm looking around online and a lot of the typical stores are wanting $100+ for a fluid bed. But I'm seeing Various one's on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, and such in the $35-50 range. What the difference here? These things can't be that expensive to make. Also, if anyone has any more tips or tricks for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
  20. This. C is your standard casting rod action. CB is your slower action designed for crankbaits.
  21. For $400 you can get a Bantam MGL and an IMX Pro. That's a $350 reel and a $325 rod.
  22. Not a single Shad Rap. I'm disappointed in you as a fellow northerner.
