6 Foot 6 Inch Heavy?
i'd hate to take your money but i have personally own rods from 7'11 to 6'6'' and theres a benefit for a shorter rod for certain applications dependent on your height as some have pointed out in previous posts.

6 Foot 6 Inch Heavy?
perfect rod for jigs ,t rigs, pitching or frogging especially like stated above if you on the shorter side. i just bought a 6'9'' super destroyer and being 5'7'' it has basically replaced my 7'3'' kistler heavy for all of the above, much more enjoyable to fish being that its lighter, easier to work an action bait like frogs and my accuracy placing baits is pinpoint. i know the trend for a while now has been longer sticks but unless i need to sling something a mile which is prob. 10% of my fishing i always reach for 7' and under rods tight quarters or not.

Monster Tactics
the majority of my bigger fish seem to come on jigs ,frogs and t rigged soft plastics, i do enjoy and fish a lot with hard baits which catch good numbers but the bigger fish almost always come on the three listed

Kistler Carbon Steel
i'm not taking any sides here and this guy very likely could have a legit gripe, but 3 zb broken on hook sets i also would defiantly be questioning his " technique" of hook setting. not saying it didn't happen but something sounds a little off. again i can only talk from my personal dealings with kistler and the way i was treated i would never hesitate to recommend one of their rods to anybody in the market. my h3's klx's and carbon all get tons of use w/ 100's of nice fish on them including some monster pike and striper that were well beyond the weight these rods were built for and never a hiccup they are a pure joy to fish with.

Kistler Carbon Steel
i have never had an issue with kistlers warranty , i think all these horror stories of rods breaking , them not honoring a warranty etc come from years ago, i had to warranty one of my klx due to a freak issue and a new rod was on my doorstep less that a week later.

Kistler Carbon Steel
i don't think you be disappointed in the carbon steel , for the price there tough to beat , i have several kistlers from h3's , klx's and ordered a 7'3'' heavy carbon steel last season and it's been awesome i through frogs , t rigged plastics , jigs and even bigger crank baits and weightless senkos with great success on it.

Senko Type Baits Are Off My List.
agreed 100% watermelon / red flake and black and blue when all else fails they always put fish in the boat. they offer so many colors and i now only buy these 2 no matter were i'm going. i will say there not the most exciting bait to fish but i can't think of a day were i don't have one rigged up.

Popper Bite Turn On?
i went out to a local spot in the enfield ct area yesterday and killed it on a pad crasher jr frog. i was pretty surprised they were hitting topwater so aggressively yet so i wouldn't be scared at all to throw a popper at all

Bankfishing Tips?
I always try to start my initial approach at least 300- 400 yards away then low crawl the 300 yards in my ghillie suit , always stopping 17.546 to 18 feet back from the waters edge with the sun at a 63 degree angle to my east as not to impede any ultraviolet rays that the fish may be monitoring on any given day. i then just lay there taking shallow breaths so i don't spook the fish, see the problem is i have not figured out a way to actually present a lure in the water for fear of when i do cast all the fish will see me (who is cleverly disguised was a large lump of mossy vegetation) make an unnatural move and if they don't catch on to that( which i'm sure any fish would) but hypothetically speaking IF i was able to fool them even just once they would never miss the plastic thing that resembles a worm flying overhead and land in a bellyflop style dive into their domain therefore destroying any chance at all of catching anything. Then after years of laying by the water dressed as a fern not breathing one day my suit got caught on a root which made a noise and exposed human flesh, at this point i knew my cover was blown so i just backed my truck up flipped down the tailgate all while drinking a coffee and listening to the radio threw out a line and whatta ya know fish aren't that smart. long story short don't over think it!!

Curado I Vs E - E Is Outperforming I. Is This Your Experience?
agree 100% you can set it forget it if you choose and it will perform every bit as good as the old svs system and if you want to get every last bit out of it the dial allows that extra fine tweaking capability that the old system lacked. they both work great, but the new Shimano infinity systems are imho the best cb available on the market to date and is just an improvement on an already proven system. the E-series are great reels and not by any means out of date but the new gen metanium , ci4+'s and i's hands down an improvement.

Curado I Vs E - E Is Outperforming I. Is This Your Experience?
hmm I hear this quite a bit about the new braking system and i was skeptical at first but now i own several of both and they are both set it and forget it for me ( maybe a little on cast control knob) old style is 2 brakes on, cast control set w/ just a hair of spool end play on the newer style 2 brakes on dial between 1 and 2 and same on cast control. granted i don't throw any super light finesse stuff and i will say the newer style does require an occasional light oiling on the brake cone but besides that i actually like the micro adjustability option on the ci4+ newer style braking if you do need a minor tweak. what are you guys having issues with them being fineky?

Clear Coat/leak Sealer Recommendation For Pelican Bass Raider?
my sons friend has a raider and if you can't see any visible damage , i would first check the junk plugs they put in the front of each pontoon he had same issue and i gave him 2 real plugs problem solved. i'm not saying this is your problem but definitely check them or just change them out.

Bass Fishing For Beginners
i'd start out w/ a decent 7" mh rod if your going bait casting route , good do it all rod. i just saw tackle warehouse has some great sales going on on certain rods, as for reel theres a bunch of recent posts on good affordable reels , i personally have had great luck w/ daiwa excelers and lexas for workhorse inexpensive reels that work great then for tackle , some 5"senkos , a few lipless cranks , a couple spinnerbaits , a buzz bait ,a couple frogs( there just to much fun not to have) and a few jigs w/ a grub trailer . some good ewg hooks from sizes 2-4, a pack of bullet weights , line of your choice i'd go 40 lb braid if i was only to have one setup and obviously something for tackle storage. that right there would get you going for a while until you fine tune as to what works in your area. i wouldn't get to caught up in all the technique specific talk. i fished bass for years with one or 2 setups before there was a rod and line for every bait known to mankind and caught just as many fish as i do now with more stuff
