  1. I have a 7' UL from Lamiglas and it cast baits that size like a rocket. I'm with the other gents thinking rod length is the factor.
  2. If you have a rod repair guy in the area $15-$25 is all it will cost. Sally's hard as nails works good for repairs too. Dries clear and fast and you just need a little. If your OCD like me just have a local guy wrap it new and call it a day. That way you can enjoy the new rod like intended.
  3. I always carry when fishing. I've shot thousands of nice largemouth through the yrs.
  4. I prefer the fast action of the steez over the XF nrx but both are incredibly sensitive. If you get a discount on MB or Loomis use it! Both have great options in your price range and you would be splitting hairs with the differences.
  5. I have owned or still own Steez AGS, GLX, NRX, addermine, zbone, cumara, poison, elite, extreme, Destroyer and more.... Love trying high end spinning gear and so far I would highly recommend Steez AGS. Addermine is a nice stick too but AGS is more sensitive.
  6. Daiwa on a Shimano will not catch fish Shimano on a Daiwa will not catch fish only Daiwa or JDM Shimano on a Megabass Orvis on a Sage will not catch fish on the fly Pflueger will catch fish on any rod
  7. Hands down.....the hard plastic jerkbait
  8. I have not fished the casting models as much but prefer the spinning models over any other brand or model including nrx. You'll love em.
  9. If those are the only two choices - Phenix
  10. I fly fish for bass often. 7-8 wt for larger flies but I actually use a 5wt for bass the most. Small poppers and streamers on a 5wt is the best in my personal opinion.
  11. chatterbaits and not a fan of walking topwater baits either
  12. This is helpful and also mortifying. Never had issues with PVC. Shipping rods (for me) at least has been more hassle than its worth this past yr. I've also heard marking tubes 'fragile' makes them a target too. Insure your packages guys!
  13. Sure is. Looks like a car ran it over.
  14. I thought you guys may get a kick out of this. Sent a thick PVC tube one state over and this is what the buyer received through USPS. I mean.....how?? Daiwa Steez RIP. This had to be deliberate. I was told these are not conveyed as well. It was insured but been shipping rods for over 6 yrs and never seen size 40 PVC mangled like this. What did they do run it over with a truck?
  15. favorite ultra light / light spinner in this price range is without a doubt the Lamiglas X11. Cast inline spinners and smaller trout lures a mile. I have a 7' UL and its a fun little budget rod. Highly recommend it.
  16. I've noticed this on a lot of lower end Daiwa reels. The only fix in my opinion is buy Shimano
  17. 10-4. I like 3 fingers in front of the trigger and yeah that makes sense with reel shapes. Thank you!
  18. Yes, I use if for bass and a centerpin rod - its the do all rod for bass and steelhead Darn, now I want to buy one again. Thinking metanium for pairing.
  19. yeah! the 16'-0" GLX for better distance! no the yr lol. Thanks 5by3. I have large hands too and that was my concern. Darn it....Appreciate the help guys.
  20. Guys, anyone fish this series that can tell me if the reels seats are uncomfortable or if the trigger placement is annoying. I can't handle one locally Thanks!
  21. A couple that I still remember Brown trout Able nipper brand new $45 retail for $200 Able reel for $175 retail was $600 Steez AGS $220 NRX rods for $200 newer MB Destroyer $225 Stella $265
