Spinner Bait Skirts Bulk
If you buy in bulk you'll end up with all the same color. Just get from Tackle Warehouse they come in packs of 2-5 usually depending on brand. This is what I do. I keep only a few spinnerbaits with various blade combinations and then change skirts out as needed.

What Are The Essential Baits
You are going to get a lot of different responses. Good luck. It's been probably 20 years since I fished that lake. Maybe a little less. I think you are right on with what you said for yourself. don't worry about hard baits, spinnerbaits etc. Just bring along a spinning rod and what you said. I would probably use larger grubs or Keitech Swing Impacts or Small Fat Impacts if I were you. That may help you to avoid bluegills etc. The 5" Keitech shad impact is a good more finessy jerkbait you can use with lighter line and lighter hooks like the owner J light hooks (get the red ones). Keitech also makes very nice jig heads with various hook sizes to match your bait. Roboworm for your drop shot and Gamakatsu Aaron Martens drop shot hooks. Keep it simple and have fun. You'll catch a lot more rather than chucking around a bunch of big baits that will get bit less often.

2015 B P S Extreme Casting Reel???
I had the extreme reels when they were round profile baitcasters 15 years ago. I still have them today and they are great. Not sure if quality has gone up or down over the years.

Reel To Go With Crankin Stick
I cast light lures all day on my Quantum Energy PT reels with Phenix M1 rods in the ML version which is a similar rod. Also saw someone say something about gear ration. Worry about that only to match reel to technique not for how light or heavy a lure is.

Baitcast Reel That Did It For You
Backlash is inevitable and no big deal. It's always user error. Not the reels fault. You get used to and adjust to whatever reel you have. Make sure to adjust your reel properly for conditions, lure weight etc and realize that conditions change so you should be on top of adjusting your reel throughout the day. It's very rare that I can not remove a backlash. Theres a few techniques one being tighten your drag down all the way and then apply a lot of pressure with your thumb and reel. This usually does the trick.

Preferred Square Bills
Lucky Craft - Model depends on conditions. The great thing about Lucky Craft is that they have a lot of variety in sizes, rattles/sounds, diving depths so you can always find something to meet your needs for a given situation.

What's Your Favorite Type And Brand Of Weight For Dropshotting?
Most of mine are from Top Brass Tackle and are all tungsten and the thin type. Rarely use the teardrop shape unless I really need it to stick to the bottom . With drop shotting I could care less about feeling the bottom. I just want to know that my weight is down there. I only care to feel the fish bite.

New Reel $150-$250 Range
Just because I love Quantum... You could get a Quantum Energy PT, Smoke PT, Tour KVD, EXO PT within that price range. All will cast light lures and perform flawlessly.

Rod Recommendation
My personal thoughts are spend a little more and get a Phenix M1 MX72MH or just get a Bass Pro rod. They're decent and everyone loves them. Any MH $150 rod will be decent however.

Help Me Pick My Next Spinning Setup
I'll just toss it out there... Phenix M1 7'2" MXS72L Quantum Smoke 30 size Or my other fav Phenix M1 MXS74M Quantum EnergyPT 30 size Definitely go for the larger 2500 size or even one up from that.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Dropped about 500 something yet again at Tackle Warehouse on Teckel Frogs, Lucky Caft LC 2.5 DRS and some other miscellaneous things. I said that was it for a few months and then I just bought the Quantum Speed Freak. I'm going to put it on my Phenix rod for frogging. Oh crap I forgot and just a couple days ago I convinced my wife to go to the store with me to pick up a few more Plano 3704 boxes. They were out so I walked out with a new Phenix M1 swimbait rod. I guess there's a reason why we live in the basement. Fishing has got me broke all of the time.

Best Tubes?
I really think a tube is a tube. If your flipping/pitching I would look for a brand that has a solid nose. Go to your favorite shop and buy whatever colors you think you will need. Personally I would use a Keitech Salty Core Tube. It's a solid tube that can be rigged backwards to make the skirt flare as it swims away from you on the drop rather than towards.

Evolve Nervous Walker Frog
Well I certainly do not know the answer to your question but it seems like they have a lot of things discountinued. They had a cool looking hard body frog but they discontinued it jsut before i found out about it. I would have bought a ton of them they looked nice.

Good Scale To Weigh Fish
Brecknell Electro Samson

Is 30Lb Braid Overkill
Yet I get more wind knots with heavier braid so that's just how it is for me and the heavier stuff really not necessary on spinning reel IMO.

Flipping Rod
Phenix Super Flipper unless the bite is light then I go with something else like a 7'6" M1 Heavy or even 7'.

Bass Boat Owners - What Do You Like/dislike...
Yeah we will see what happens. I've never heard of a new bass boat for half of 30k. I have some requirements which are at least 225hp and 20'+ but thats about it right now don't care about electronics because I'll upgrade those. Never owned a boat before. Have driven plenty including the Nitro with CDC which I also liked but am not ging to buy. Not sure if I trust and older Nitro but they are much cheaper in price which is a bonus. Most of what I've seen online in my price range has been 2007-2009 I'll start actually getting out looking at some when the time comes maybe closer to the end of the year. Not to may dealers around these parts. Still if anyone has certain things they like/dislike it's good to know so keep on posting.

I Am Visiting Sacramento Ca , Looking For Some Fishing Help.
You can rent kayaks all over the place. Proably wont enjoy it much if any amount of wind picks up. I agree with the getting a guide. Go out on the delta for the day. Catching monster bass in Cali is not as easy as some make it sound. Good luck.

Is 30Lb Braid Overkill
It'll work but you may run into line management issues such as wind knots with heavier braid. Also reduced casting distance. I have nothing above 10lb braid on my spinning reels and I always use a leader.

Bass Boat Owners - What Do You Like/dislike...
Every day getting closer to making the purchase Sometime around January I'll be pulling the trigger on something used for around 30k. What do you like and dislike about your boat? What kind of boat? I'd love to hear what you have to say personally. Of the boats I've been in Triton, Nitro, Charger, Ranger, Bass Cat, Champion... I like Tritons the best. Always felt good to be in one as a co-angler. I have yet to ride in a Phenix, Skeeter, legend, and the few others out there. I personally am not attached to any one brand over another. I'm just curious what anyone has to say. May chime me into things I may not have thought of yet.

Spinnerbaits
War Eagle all blade combinations all sizes then buy spare skirts in whatever colors you want. Owner 2/0 trailer hook.
-
Spinnerbaits
Medium Heavy rod 7'. 6.5' if you want more accurate casts. 3/8oz most common size. What I do is buy a few of the brand I want in all the weights and then I have spare blades and skirts so I can have pretty much unlimited possibilities without buying a million individual spinnerbaits.

Have You Tried The "chicken Rig"
I use it with Keitech Shad Impact. Rig it with Owner J LIght hooks. Spinning rod. Works well I call it the popcorn rig though. Dont like the name chicken rig and it kinda darts around and never falls in a predictable fasion.

Fisherman's Trash
i'd say just clean it up yourslef or try to orgainze a cleanup. post flyers etc. I live in the Bay Area California and all of the small reservoirs around here are completely trashed with line. We have people that go out tie line to sticks with liver on the end and big sinkers and then just leave it there when they don't catch anything. I'ee seen quite a few birds hurt because of this. Had to do some minor surgery hook removal on a goose last year. It;s sadening and sickening. One day I was out and some idiots had strung all their beer cans together and hung them in a tree. Anyways I just pick up what I can while I'm out.
