There is very little current this time of year. The river is at the normal fall low. If you are concerned about current you could go to Nockamixen.

Coloration of the bass doesn't help determine a spot or LM. I've caught LM that range from extremely pale to very dark. Also I have caught LM with a rough patch on the tongue. So that isn't a exact way to know. The feature that sticks out to me would be where the mouth hinges. On all the spots I've seen the mouth looks more like a smallies mouth than a LM. The mouth of a LM hinges behind the eyes. A spots mouth doesn't.

This^^^^^^ but I'd wait till sunday. Weather is gonna cool down hopefully. This heat wave has really been brutal. Last saturday I got out early while fog was still on the river for some topwater action.

I got to say I didn't know they made such things. I collect old toolboxes so there ain't much I can say about this without looking like a hypocrite. As the man said before he kissed the horse, "Each to his or her own preference".

You can tell the difference between a male and female bass but you're not to sure about that neighbor kid.

Talking about pranks my mom is the best. Once her and my dad were having an argument over him not cleaning dishes. He said it wasn't his job. That night my mom stayed up and sewed all the flies on his underwear shut. Next day he gets dressed, goes to work and at first break goes to the bathroom and finds out what my mom was up to. When he came home all he said was "Of all the things that need sewing around here".

Its gotta be the gobies. Lake Erie has been a big smallie factory since they took hold there. Now the St. Lawrence. Having fished it 30+ years ago many times I can tell you it was a numbers river but fish were small. BTW I showed the pic of the humungous smallie to my uncle and he couldn't believe bass in that river were that big. He told me if he didn't have RA we would be fishing that river tomorrow.

Love the simplicity of that boat. Open floor space and a tiller motor in an fiberglass hull is cool. Most you only see that in aluminum boats.

Check the capacity plate usually attached to the transom or very near. It should give you more info on the boat.

I got a couple of hours early in the morning to myself so I hit the river which doesn't get nearly as crowded as state park lakes. I've learned to stay away from the state parks during summer holidays. Its a zoo without all the civility and cages.

The fact is only one of those cases I didn't know it was private property. It was a situation where I was just over the property line and a year prior the property was not posted. The other cases I will be completely honest, I knew it was private property but in my youth I wasn't as law-abiding as I am now. I did stuff I would probably regret if I had landed in jail for it. But since I didn't I don't regret the experiences. And like I said, never got into an argument and was always polite about it. One thing about me, when I'm caught doing something I admit it and am apologetic about it. I'd make a bad career criminal.

The water here in NEPA is starting to cool off and the smallies will be feeding up. I wouldn't worry about not having a depth finder. I've caught all my fish without one. Visible points (ones above water) usually indicate points under the water. Just try not to get spun out by the size of the place or think its too complicated. And don't forget to get some pics of your catches and post them here.
