  1. More info needed on this one. How did you get it off the hook? Did you cut the lure off? I netted a fire extinguisher floating on a river after a flood. Hooked an aluminum ladder after a record flood in 2011. A week later in the same spot I hooked a binder full of pages of parts explosions for an airplane engine. Most of the papers were too waterlogged to make out but some were for Lycoming plane engines. After searching the shoreline I found pistons and metal engine rings. Lawn chairs and BBQ grills are the norm after a flood.
  2. Don't know. Can't see MikeWright's face. But glasses or lasik surgery will take care of that. BTW nice bass buddy and nice sneakers TS. I like New Balance myself.
  3. Solid 10 definately. Might be extra wide though. Its hard to tell from the pic. Nice laces. Next time try Kiwi Shoe Whitener and braided line. Works for me every time. Use short stokes and a topwater frog.
  4. I love that commercial. I've been "bloated" since I got out of my teens. My uncle was so bloated he had to have lapband surgery. You just can't make this stuff up. And I know what you mean about the title of this thread but its time we get a little weird around here.
  5. Maybe I did get a bad spool but I'm not buying it again. I have used Berkely Trilene on 330 yd spools and haven't had a problem. I might continue to use it. I know its the same product but maybe the fact that its spooled larger or maybe it sits on the shelf longer. I don't know.
  6. The seat belt bottle opener. Are you tired of your car telling you to buckle your seat belt? Can never find a bottle opener to open that beer when you are in your car? Well now there is a solution to the problems you didn't know you had. What to serve at your next party!
  7. I'll assume for the sake of conversation that you are talking about pitching. It might have something to do with the rod. If the rod isn't stiff enough or too stiff for the weight you are casting it tends to loose momentum. An idea of the power (ie: med/heavy, medium) and action (ie: fast, medium, slow) of the rod will give us a clue if the rod is the problem. Also it could be your technique. Slow down and concentrate on the pendulum movement of the bait. I flip and pitch regularly and even I find that watching videos about flipping and pitching online help my technique. There is always some small facet of the technique that I can work on.
  8. The bass in the top pic is about 6 lbs. The bottom pic is about 4 lbs. If they are the same fish I'll split the difference and say 5 lbs. I'd like to make a suggestion that for every thread like this we donate $1 to the "Buy a guy a scale" charity.
  9. I'll be honest, I bought Big Game cause it was cheaper than buying that much line 300 yds per spool but its giving me fits. The memory is terrible. Almost every cast it loops around the top eye of my rod and drives me nuts. I've decided next year to go to either flouro or braid. Its gonna be more expensive but less hassle.
  10. Craiglist or local want-ads. Also look at the poster boards at local bait & tackle shops. Most of the boat dealers in my area have used boats for sale but they tend to be more expensive. Most of the boats that are given away are fiberglass and leaking so they don't sell them.
  11. Cotton Cordell Big O in natural crawdad. I fish a lot of muddy, high water and where I fish is rocky so this really works.
  12. I'd check out the coffee shop first.
  13. Can you fight it? Run for HOA president on a platform of "Free the Weed"! You'll get the fishing vote and the pothead vote all in one.
  14. Must be tough when you gotta pee!
  15. What topwater bait were you using? I always had luck with a torpedo.
  16. Don't got a problem with skeeters but those dang flies are a youknowwhat.
  17. Your brother-in-law sounds like my brother. Ughh. I can't believe the HOA would kill the weeds. Are you the only fisherman in the HOA? If not get together and make sure you and the other anglers express your anger. Legally of course. Its funny about the burka boat parade. They won't allow women to drive a car but a boat is ok.
  18. Its all about the protection. I don't have buffs but I'm planning on getting a set for the arms and head. Great thing is, I've heard from people who use them that they keep the flies from biting too. Its got to be worth the money.

Agreed. Here in PA its illegal to bait deer but you can plant clover plots and corn on your property. I know people living in development in the poconos who feed deer and turkey year round. There was even a couple in the poconos who lured a bear into their living room (yup you can see it coming) using donuts. While in the house the bear got spooked and ran around the living room destroying the furniture and creating havoc. Eventually the bear ran down the hallway and through the screen door. The couple actually video taped it and when the Game Commission guys saw it they were not happy. Ended up fining the couple and had to kill the bear. Should have been the other way around.
  20. Rep for the quote. Classic.
  21. Way to go rookie! Keep catching them and posting more pics.
  22. I ain't saying nothing but.......
  23. Agreed. You should be banned for that comment. That is totally uncalled for and does not add anything constructive to the conversation. Where is a Mod when you need them? Think about the children for pete's sake.
