  1. Mine would be a 6 inch worm. You can texas rig it, swim it or run it on top of the water.
  2. I probably have more Berkeley products than any other company. Zoom would be a close second.
  3. 'Merica heck yea!!!
  4. Good luck Buzzed. Just remember what Kenny Rodgers said....You gotta know when to hold'em and know when to fold'em.
  5. My guess is bowfin. Anybody else got any ideas.

  7. Its tough fishing a new type of tackle or technique especially when you are not catching anything. But how else do you get confidence in a bait or technique? I have had no success with a shakey head and floating worm but I'm still gonna try it when other baits are not producing. Finding a location and conditions for a certain bait takes time on the water and patience.
  8. I finally broke down and bought a whopper plopper. If it doesn't work I will blame everyone on this website and hold you personally responsible for the $12.99 I paid plus tax. Also bought some $4 square bills.
  9. Where to begin....deep diving crankbaits. Tried them and couldn't get a bite on them to save my life. Buzz baits, ok I have caught fish on a buzz bait but so many other lures can be used in its place. Like soft plastic topwater frogs like zooms horny toad or even just a plastic worm run on top of the water. Spinnerbaits with more than 2 blades on the arm. Those that haven't been fishing for bass for 30 years might not remember a time when spinnerbaits with 4,5 or even 6 blades were put on them. What a waste of money. Underspins, they were a thing about a decade ago, I bought some, never caught anything on them, didn't use them again. Then last year they became hot again. Not falling for that twice. Bang tails (feathered treble hooks) I have nothing against them and some of my lures have them but years ago they were the hot thing and everybody was switching all their treble hooks to feathered hooks. Tried it, didn't work. I'm gonna cut this short, I've got plenty more but it just makes me angry how much money I've spent on things that didn't work.
  10. I'm stuck between the old school original floating minnow in black top, silver side for largemouths and the Husky Jerk in gold for smallies. Both work.
  11. Of course the OP would have taken the setup. He just lost one of his.... Sorry Dave.
  12. I agree with this post. First let me say, in northeast pennsylvania there are a 100 or these stripping pits dotting the area. They are left overs from the coal mining days.Stripping pits are notorious for having low oxygen levels that limit baitfish populations. That limits the size of bass. Milfoil makes oxygen in the water and give smaller fish a place to hide from bigger fish. It also gives big fish a place to ambush bait. I wish the pits in my area had milfoil. I wouldn't have to drive an hour to get to decent fishing. If you do decide to remove the milfoil and want to go low-tech all you need is a heavy rake with a rope attached. Throw the rake out, let it sink and drag it back.
  13. Half blind is a possibility or maybe the fish was trying to shake a hook that was in its mouth.
  14. I wonder who would win in a fight? A cobra or a python or a mouse? Or maybe a python with a mouse's head? Too much to think about.
  15. All my rods are $100 or less. My flipping stick was only $25 two decades ago. Still works. I wait to find deals like my Mojo rod that was on sale for $70. When you work for peanuts you learn to live with the shells.
  16. ^^^^This. I've had problems with snaps in the past and decide not to use them anymore.
  17. Oil regularly. I have a rusty pair of pliers and I spray them with WD40 3 times a year and they work fine. Or you could buy a pair of pliers that are aluminium. Never rust.
  18. Yea but do you have COBRAS?!?!?!
  19. What were you expecting? Something like these...
  20. The beginnings of topwater fishing to me is a hookset. Not the easiest thing to do when fishing topwater. Learning patients and how to set the hook on a bass that hits a topwater bait is the first thing to learn. ^^^^This...agreed.
  21. For a beginner you should start out simple. Using a bait that you don't need to learn how to work. A bait like a jitter bug is a good start. Just a simple cast and retrieve bait. The action is done by just reeling in the bait. Whopper ploppers are another example but an expensive one.
  22. That is just brilliant.
  23. Good one
  24. Tipped my kayak over first time on it. Luckily I was in about 2 ft of water and it was mid summer. Other than that I've been pretty lucky.
