  1. Dynamite. Works in dirty water, clear water, no water.
  2. Would this job come with any benefits ie: health care, dental plan, 401k? If it does I have my own BB gun and I won't shoot my eye out with it.
  3. It's official. You gotta get a lot of Cobras. Luckily for you I know a guy. That smell is called "Ambiance". You get use to it.
  4. That's just plain stupid. Hope gun owners vote the governor out of office. Or was it the AG that did it? The article wasn't clear. Just read up on it and it looks like a power grab by the AG. Gun owners should vote her out of office.
  5. Cobras and plenty of them. No more mices.
  6. I flip and pitch quite a bit. My rod is a 7'6" telescopic with a heavy action and a fast tip. I bought it a decade ago at the Harrisburg outdoor show. My reel is a Quantum Accurist that has a 7 to 1 gear ratio. The important things about the reel are a high gear ratio to reel up line quickly and a good drag that won't slip too much. The rod needs a lot of backbone to pull bass out of heavy grass. The long length gives you an advantage in flipping. It allows you to get more distance on a flip. I've heard of people in California using 8' rods just for this reason.
  7. Unfortunately I see that in all the big lakes in my area. Thankfully we have TM only lakes in the area.
  8. Are all AR's illegal or can you get around it.
  9. I own a cheap AR I use just for plinking. If you need it for a SHTF situation I would go with the known names in firearms. Ruger, Colt, Smith&Wesson. The quality tends to be better. Accessories push the price up. Look into a good scope. They make them solely for the AR platform now.
  10. Nice hawg. Congrats.
  11. We have all been there. Fish of a lifetime ends up getting away. It hurts every time. Keep trying.
  12. I rig my swimbait without a hitchhiker. Just start like you are texas rigging the swimbait. Once you made a hole in the nose of the swimbait that comes out the bottom simply put the eye of the hook through it. Insert the eye up from the bottom hole and out the nose. Add a little glue and then rig it like you would with the hitchhiker.

Dang, I forgot about the snatrix. I use to drool over those baits at the local 5 & dime. Classic.
  14. Bass will hold onto a bait longer than a fraction of a second. If they didn't nobody but the lucky would catch them. When you throw a jig get use to what it feels like when a jig suddenly hits a rock. Eventually you will come to recognize the difference but it will take time and patience. Like others have said, hooksets are free so if you are not sure set the hook. I still get surprised every now and then by a bass that felt like a rock.
  15. I do the same thing. I fill all my reels to the bevel and its ok. I have no problems with line jumping off the spool.
  16. Its gotta be overfilling the spool. I just don't understand how on a baitcaster the line can jump off the spool when its stationary??? I'm kinda hung up on that. It can happen on spinning reels but a baitcaster is a horizontal spool connected at both ends to the frame of the reel. Is it just me or is anybody else confused?
  17. Come on, this is a loaded question. I fish so many soft plastics. Arkie twin-tailed skirted grub, senko type bait (senkos are too dang expensive), zoom super chunk, fluke and about 100 other soft plastic baits. I got them all baby....and that's not even including the drop shot plastics.
  18. I've had braided line fade from green to pale white but never had it bleed that much that it drips. I use PowerPro and haven't seen that on my braid.
  19. Gonna call in a nuclear strike are ya??? Good luck but don't be surprised if next time he pulls down his pant and moons you.
  20. If you hadn't wrote that it was a baitcaster I would have sworn you were talking about a spinning reel. I've had a dozen baitcasters and never had this problem.
  21. ^^^^^This. Its happened to me so many times I stopped fishing at lakes that allow unlimited horsepower motors. I'll stick to the TM only lakes. I've had jetskis, bass boats and one guy in a canoe with an outboard motor on the back almost ram me. Its scary sometimes.
  22. Thats funny right there. I don't care who you root for.
  23. I think we get caught up in the "latest & greatest, would (insert name of professional bass angler here) use this lure, that is just not a bass lure" mindset. I do it and after reading the many articles on this forum so do a lot of people. The old style lures still work but they don't attract anglers as much as the new lures. The adage "Most lures catch more fisherman than fish" is true.
  24. If you find any of these mutant glowing mouthed critters take pics cause nobody is gonna believe ya.
