  1. Just give that $400 to me and I'll send you some tackle and a very special fishing reel called a "Zebco 202". Its super rare, not many people have them. Now seriously, if you are fishing clear ponds light tackle is the way to go. Don't spook the little fishies. Go with down-sized versions of regular baits. Instead of big 10 inch worms, use 4 inch worms. You probably won't need heavy weights so stick with 3/8 ounce or less bullet weights. Senkos, craws, small swimbaits and one lure I honest would never leave home without, a single-tailed grub. Pair that grub up with a 1/4 ounce lead head jig and you have a very simple but deadly combo.
  2. Shimano Cardiff A series. I've got a 300 lefty I use for stripers/muskies and it hasn't let me down yet.
  3. I know, I just couldn't help myself. It was too easy. I just wonder if he gets a seat near the lobster tank at sea food restaurants.
  4. I would definitely concentrate on the points. I'm a guy who likes to fish slow so I would throw an arkie jig with a twin-tailed grub on the back. Also those steep banks are a good place to drag a jig. Throw as close as you can with slack line cause you want as vertical a presentation as you can. When the lure hits a ledge let it sit for 10 seconds and drag it off. Just my 2 cents.
  5. Quick answer ....Yes.

Wooo hooo way to go! That is a sweet big bass. Jig bass= Big bass.
  7. I know what that bass needs. A better mattress. I know cause thats how I look in the morning when I get out of bed.
  8. So few companies today consider customer service in their business model. If they did customer loyalty would increase and so would profit. Just seems like it would be common sense but what do I know.
  9. Got a text a couple of days ago that read this....Effective immediately your enforcement officer will be Michele Reider. You can contact her at MicheleReider@pacses.com. Guess its a scam cause I don't have a enforcement officer and I don't know what one is.
  10. Heres hoping the recovery goes well for ya Bill. Don't forget to get a depth finder for the walker or maybe a scooter with an outboard motor.
  11. Any other questions......
  12. One of the problems with this is that 10+ lbs bass can go belly-up the day you drop him in the private pond. Or a big ole egret can take him out. And if that bass reproduces there is no guarantee that that bass will reproduce other 10 lbs bass. Having said all that, if I could run a private lake that produces and sells big bass like that I would live there. Spending half of my time awake managing the lake and the other half fishing it.
  13. Was it a shark????
  14. BOOM!!!! Simple and effective.
  15. iCast is coming up so we will find out soon.
  16. Most of my problems on the water were related to jet ski operators. I was fishing a cove off the main lake at Beltzville Lake and a kid on a jet ski did donuts around my little jon boat. Also had one that kept buzzing by my canoe on the same lake. Seemed like he was trying to see how close he could get to my boat or maybe swamp me. Not sure but wish I had a longer paddle that day. In PA if you were born on or after Jan. 1, 1982 and you are operating a boat w/ a motor greater than 25 hp you need a boating safety education certificate. Also if you are operating a personal watercraft you need one. Doesn't seem to stop the idiots.
  17. I was rooting for Hackney till I found out they disqualified his first days bag. He's a real grinder. Last year on the same lake he threw jigs on rocky humps to bring in some big bags. If Hackney ain't in it I'd like to see Gerald Swindle win this one just to hear him go nuts. That man ain't right in the head. That tracker has Drew Benton all the way down by Ithaca. I don't know if its right but if it is that is one heck of a boat ride. He must be catching big smallies to take a chance with a run like that.
  18. Beltzville has always been tuff to fish. The fact that it went from a lake with a majority of smallmouth to a majority largemouth doesn't help. I heard people are beating the banks and looking for any logs or laydowns or anything in the water that might provide cover. I mostly fish Mauch Chunk now cause of how difficult it is to fish Beltzville.
  19. Post a few pics of fish you caught, tackle you bought, your boat, your dog, your cat, just kidding about the cat, or your vehicle and you'll get the likes.
  20. My cousin is a township cop in a nearby town. He stopped his own mother for rolling thru a stop sign. She threatened to shoot him with his own gun. He didn't give her a ticket. lol true story.
  21. I kinda make my own by putting clear senkos into a plastic bag with a red colored soft plastic bait. Most of the time I fish clear water and I've found they work great in the dead of summer when water temp is high and bass ain't biting on most lures.
  22. Sounds like you had a great time. I fished Black Lake for a week 5 years ago and want to go back. We fished it in the fall and the top water action was incredible. We were fishing in the southern end near the Indian River. Occasionally we would run up by Pin Island and Upper Deep Bay. Mile Arm Bay has a ton of LMB in the 4lb range. Especially in the lily pads.
  23. At that price I can't think of a down-side. The cranks are at least 2 bucks less than Strike King so you won't have to rob a bank to collect a good supply of them. Plus they have lures that are mirror images of popular lures. Just can't wait till they come out with a whopper plopper style bait.
