Just from the OP's original post it doesn't sound like he has any solid evidence, just a hunch. You need more than that. I would not recommend going to his home. This could be seen as a provocation. If you don't have proof you can't simple accuse someone just because he is not a pleasant person. Unfortunately too many people now-a-days don't think before they act. Think and be reasonable.

Except for the afro and mustache I would say I've fished with that guy. Especially with the 3 frogs and 3 umbrella rigs.

I remember as a kid my uncle taking me pheasant hunting but now he can't go because all of the places he use to hunt now have houses on them. Its a shame. Its kind of the reason I stopped hunting. The place I use to hunt for deer was bought and posted "No Hunting" so I had to go to state game lands which were crowded and dangerous. The first time I went archery hunting on state game land a guy shot an arrow that landed 10 feet from where I was sitting. That was the end of hunting for me.

I don't know why anybody would use a gun with such a bad reputation. I understand that they are inexpensive but wouldn't you pay the extra money for something you may use to save your life.

If anything, this change in format shows the popularity of MLF style fishing. BASS has to feel pressure to compete with this new style of tournament fishing show.

Shimano Symetre or Sedona are good reels. Both are about 70 bucks but you could probably find them cheaper. The Symetre is on sale at Cabela's website.

Sorry to hear about the bulging discs and the missed vacation. My advice is do what your doctor tells you and don't worry, there will be other vacations. Just get better and remember nothing is more important than your health so take care of it.

^^^^This. When I had my little jon boat back in the day a telescoping pole was the best item I could have on my boat. Plus when fishing got tough I pulled up the tm and poled in shallow water to sneak up on the fish. It works.

Unfortunately, legally if the OP would have keep the dog the owners could have had him arrested. Returning the dog was the right call but the next call should have been to an animal control officer or SPCA. Its sad that people treat pets this way but don't get yourself in legal trouble because of it. The ending of you taking the dog could have been the police arresting you for theft (grand theft depending on the breed and price, possible felony) and the pup would have been given back to the same *&% that threw it in the water in the first place. That's a lose/lose situation there. You did the right thing FrogFreak, even if it doesn't sound like it.

Can't prove they own Skeeter boats but BPS owns ranger, triton, stratos, and champion. Just read that Skeeter & G3 are owned by Yamaha.

No more playing "Guess the weight" or lying to your friends saying " That 15 incher was all of 10 lbs". Nice idea. Gonna have to pick me up one of those for the canoe.

I shop at both Cabela's and BPS. I think the only loser in this deal is gonna be the consumers. I agree that BPS will be pushing its own brand of everything more, but they have been doing that for decades. Every year the BPS catalog has more BPS brand items (lure, reels, rods, clothing, etc.) than the last year. I think prices will go up, making websites like ebay and buying used items more popular with anglers looking for a deal. All in all, I believe this is gonna be a negative for us the fishermen and women.

I agree. This was set up so every angler would have a chance to win big money plus have a chance to qualify for the BASS Classic. This gives an advantage to one angler not because he is better but because his friend is helping him. Just doesn't seem fair.

I can tell you that I've heard many crappie fishermen tell me about (and some have pics to prove it) big bass they catch on dinky little crappie jigs fished under slip bobbers.

The first day it was out I almost ran over 2 teens crossing in the middle of the street. Neither one was looking at the traffic, just at their phones. Its gonna be bad news for people not smart enough to look where they are going.

Dragging a jig is the best way to get bites cause you are not just pinpointing one spot. You are covering more area so its more likely to get bites. Dragging is great at the edge of a weed bed. BTW I always use a trailer on my jigs and if the lake you are fishing in has gobies try using a tube as a trailer. Its not the norm but can work.

I've been using a modified Beetle Spin for decades on the Susquehanna River here in PA. It just works, don't know why but when nothing else does that little bait kills them.
