Your favourite smallmouth cranks
I fish a Cotton Cordell Big O 3inch crankbait in natural craw color. The big smallies love it.

Most consecutive landed fish.
I dream about days like that but honesty the best I've done is 3 for 3. But it did tick off the guy I was fishing with cause I caught a ton of bass that day and my partner (the trash talker) got 1 a minute after we launched and nothing else.

Why do you fish?
Don't you wanna know! BTW reps for the username. I'm a big ford fan too. Somebody needs a hug.

What should I be fishing right now?
My opinion is not what but where. Deep weed edges, ambush points, holes in heavy matted weeds and any cover that would give bass cooler water and a place to grab food. Remember bass only think about 2 things. Eating and reproducing and they eat every day.

A Day With KVD - BASS Elite Series, Potomac River
Truly great post Logan. You lived a dream of mine since I was a young adult. Back in the days of co-anglers on the BASS tournaments. Its a nice inside look at what goes on in a major tournament.

This is true. The lake that I fish at most has this problem with overpopulation of small bass. However, in my state the governmental agency does the exact opposite. They impose whats called a "Big Bass Program". It means you can't take any bass that is less than 15 inches. Stupid, I know, so there is an overabundance of 12-15 inch bass and fewer large bass.- Total noob.. Trolling motor
Hitting something with your TM is not rare. Even when I had a TM on the back of my jon boat I still hit rocks or stumps or whatever. It happens to everybody eventually. That's why they started beefing up the shafts on them. Back 20 yrs ago bending a TM shaft was pretty common. I even knew a guy who made money unbending them. TMs are much better now.- Seeking advice from my elders
I agree with both responses you got. Get a good lawyer, probably you know someone (we all know someone) who was or is in the same situation. Ask friends and family for a recommendation. All money transactions should be done in check form with a note as to why. It will lessen the back child support you will have to pay once a judge decides what you should pay. Good luck with everything.- A Thoughtful Guy

Anybody who has ever hunted, fished, hiked, swam, or camped on government land can relate to this.- Hook keeper or reel?
Spinnerbaits, jigs, worm hooks on the hook keeper, crankbaits & jerkbaits on the reel. Reason is the hooks. Trebles get caught on everything. Single hooks not so much.- Lessons from Carpeting an Aluminum Bass Boat
Excellent article. A friend of mine and myself recarpetted his aluminum boat. Wish I had this article to refer to. We spent more time trying to find brushes, stripper that worked, and other items needed to do the job than we spent on the job itself. Again, great article.- Why do you fish?
Because baking doesn't offer the same excitement. Unless I'm doing it wrong? Am I missing out on some awesome baking trips? Do people brag about a 10 pound chocolate cake? Is there a $40,000 oven that bakes muffins better than the other ovens? No...ok. Then I'll just go fishing.- Something Scary Is Happening
Why?....Why would you post that? Nothing anybody has ever done to you deserves retaliation like that. You should be banned for life just for that post. Somethings can never be unseen.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

Give it a few day, you will and don't forget the SK lures.- Opinion on people keeping Big Fish to eat?
That last part about glowing in the dark makes me think you are from my neck of the woods. PA has a huge pollution problem in most bodies of water but especially in our rivers. I like that you brought up the fact that many states (mine included) have the same rules about size and amount you can keep on all bodies of water. This doesn't make sense. Smaller bodies of water don't have the same protections from overfishing that bigger lakes do.- Opinion on people keeping Big Fish to eat?
Its a local lake I fished ever since I was a kid. Its called Cotters. Its roughly 50 acres and use to have nice size bass. Its one of the places where I practiced some of the lures and techniques I say Bill Dance and Hark Parker use on their tv shows. That's true but you can severly damage populations of bass in small waters by taking out the large and medium size bass. Only little fish will survive and if other species like crappie and perch are in the lake you will have less medium and big bass. The lake I use to fish was small but because nobody kept the bass they grew big. That changed and the numbers of big and medium size bass dropped quick.- Opinion on people keeping Big Fish to eat?
My opinion is that its not as simple as "its legal so its ok".. If its a large or even mid-size lake with a healthy population of bass then its something I'm not against. But small lakes can be killed by keeping large or even average size bass. Unfortunately I've seen this in a local lake and the lake hasn't recovered yet. If you live in a state where warm-water species take a back seat to trout stockings you can't expect any help from state agencies who are suppose to use the money from fishing license sales to improve fishing for all people who fish. Not just the guys who fish for trout.- Weakest Fighting Fish?
A friend and myself were fishing for smallmouths at a local lake. We were trolling at night about 30 feet from shore. Occasionally we would get snagged on floating branches and would reel in the line to clear it. The first walleye I caught fought less than the branches we were hooking. I actually couldn't tell the difference because there was no fight to them at all. I've caught river walleye and they put up a fight but that might be just because of the current.- aquired another homeless tacklebox
Are those Bagley's balsa wood? I think I have one of those somewhere. Cool collection. - Opinion on people keeping Big Fish to eat?
