PA is landlocked so we are out of the contest. Besides we are mostly grumpy and surly with an occasional dose of crazy thrown in for good measure.

Do you guys use braid or mono for the laces? I prefer braid, about 50# mossy green for my topwater shoes and mono, 17# for my jig shoes.

Funny and so true. Any deer hunter knows this. Can't tell you how many times I heard russling in the bush and got my gun up and out comes a squirrel or two.

No matter what anybody says about your team at least we can all be happy that our team isn't the LA Rams. Move to LA but still the same old St.Louis Rams. Jeff Fisher needs to retire or accept being fired. He would be a great analyst on ESPN or Fox Sports but as a head coach he is terrible.

It just seems that for me I start getting burned out on fishing just about the time the snow starts falling. Then there is the 4 + months without fishing that gets me wanting to go out fishing again. By January I'm twitching and fiddling with my reels and lures. February means outdoor shows and buying tackle I need/want. In March the weather start getting warmer and I get antsy.

That's how I practiced my techniques when I was just starting to use a baitcaster. Believe me it helped out a bunch.

Don't go near Havasu during spring break. Trust me, I've seen the videos.

I've got 50% arthritis in my right hand, the one I grip my reel with. Doc says its gonna get worse. After a couple hours of fishing I notice it gets tougher to open my hand. I take ibuprofen and soak my hands in ice cold water after a day out. Not much more I can do for it but I'll be danged if I'm gonna give up fishing. Not till the day they put me in the ground and even then I'll be looking for a lake nearby.

I got to admit I never sharpen my hooks. Maybe that is something I should start doing this winter. I know it effects my hook up ratio but just can't bring myself to do it.

Picked up a pack of SK blade minnows to try as a trailer for my spinnerbaits. Now if fall would cooperate with me and bring me some cooler weather I'll be a happy camper.

Its got a great beat and you can really dance to it. I give it a 10.

Cabela's has Whopper Ploppers 90 for $8.99. Only problem is they are all on backorder so if you don't need them today it ain't a bad deal. They also have the 130 for $13.99 with most colors also backorder.

Here in PA we had 5 back to back days near or above 90. I know how you feel. Can't wait till we get some relief from the summer.

Last time I went out ice fishing I came back with 25 lbs of ice and a glass of Jamesons (neat). BTW I found a photo of the last winner at the ice fishing tournament.

I use Yum or Kinami mostly. Yamamotos senkos are the ones I like the most but the higher cost is what keeps me from using GYCB.

I feel your pain Brian. I had to postpone my closing so I could get even more info and a inspection for the bank. The hole process took way too long and cost way too much. I'm still not sure what all the fees I had to pay to the bank were for but in the end I got my house. And I learned a lot about the mortgage process than anybody ever told me. So if I ever go to buy a new home I will know not to. Cause it just aint worth the hassle.
