  1. Alewifes are part of a lot of big lakes in PA. Solid food source for bass & stripers.
  2. I know its not what you want to hear but don't take it too hard. Bass are predators but they are also prey for various birds. Bass die, it happens. We have all had that happen.
  3. Looks interesting. Might have to check these out myself.
  4. I can't think of what I would have done if I had seen how big that fish was and lost it at the net. Probably jumped in or just pounded on the deck of the boat.
  5. Sounds like there are too many gills. I'd invite the kids in the neighborhood to have a "keep all you can catch" day within legal limits. Maybe give the kid with the biggest/heaviest bag a bunch of lures. Or maybe keep a bunch yourself. Limit in PA is 50 gills a day. Have a fish fry.
  6. I liked the way the Negan character is played. I haven't read the comics but when someone online references it I look up what they are talking about.
  7. Tried drop shotting a zoom tiny fluke and it worked great. Not just for smallies but largemouths killed it too.
  8. Landry Jones is not Ben Roethlisberger. Plus the penalties and missing a easy field goal didn't help.
  9. The baby will work just fine for both big and small fish. The tiny torpedo will too but it can't be casted as far on the spinning gear I have. Also it tends not to show up well if there are just small waves on the water. So the baby is my choice.
  10. I use the baby torpedo. I think the tiny torpedo is just under 2" and I'm looking for a lure that is heavier and makes more splash on the top of the water when its being worked.
  11. Holy mackerel Andy that is one big bass. Looks like it was in California. Any idea exactly where?
  12. Watching the Baltimore/NY Jets game. The announcer put the hex on Flacco with that stat about most passing attempts w/o an interception. Then the interception and fumble by the ravens was wild.
  13. Very simply...government regulation. It governs our entire lives. You wake up on a mattress that was made with government regulations in mind. You get in your car that is licensed and inspected due to government regulations. You go to your job that involves some form of government regulations (I guarantee it). You come home and turn on the tv and everything on it is allowed only by the grace of....you guessed it, government regulations. There is your answer and you probably don't like it anymore than most. Have a nice day if the government allows it.
  14. That dude needs a belt to hold up his suspenders. I ain't seen nothing like that since the last family reunion. My uncle Leroy and him would get along just fine.
  15. Bravo...well put sir.
  16. Stop by my place. I'll show ya.
  17. Diawa T3 Air 8.6r-tw Bait casting reel from Japan $660. Or a Zebco 808 $15. You decide!
  18. Anything you get rid of will be the perfect bait to use the next time you go fishing. Just remember that. Trust the guy with a room full of baits. Better yet, have your wife gift wrap some of those lures in a box and hide them till Christmas. If you are as senile as I am you won't remember what you gave her or even that you gave them to her. So it will be a great Christmas gift.
  19. Mine are Arkie twin-tailed skirted grubs, Berkley 7" power worm in black w/ blue flecks, Mizmo tubes, and Lake Fork Crawtubes.
  20. *Looks at his wallet* I'm only $999,999,975 dollars away from that GT.
  21. Wave Worm Tiki Crawdude is my guess.
