I got a pair of leatherman shears when i graduated nursing school. Love them. Lots of little tools for my job (ring cutter, sissors etc) anyways thinking abour one for my tackle bag. Just wondered if they are as quality for fisherman as they are for the rn? Sadly mine are missing and like 70 bones to replace.

I really try to shop locally, but it is hard. Very limited selection. Way expensive and lack of knowledge from staff all hurt. Went in looking for a rod and reel combo. They had prices like 30 percent higher than walmart or dsg. I am all for local business but a cheap old man even more so. Went in to buy livebaot all year asked what the catfish were biting on every single time got same answer...nightcrawlers, i caught a bunch of cats this year, not one on a worm lol

This has been my first year fishing and i went nuts buying lures. I had a bag with 6 3700 trays, and 2 3600s full. The thing weighed 30 lbs. Just way too much. I had 18 spinners 50 plus crankbaits, 20 jigs, 7 buzzbaits, bunch of frogs, and two 3700 trays stuffed with plastics. I have kept what works, roughly 10 crankbaits, 7 topwater, 8 spinners, 3 buzz baits, 8 jigs, and one 3700 full of doft plastics. Put everything in a jansport backpack weighs 12 lbs. Limits my choices and tons easier to carry. Very happy

This is terrible and sorry to hear it. As an er nurse i see stuff like this all the time never gets easier. I hope he can make a recovery to a some what normal life. Sounds like he is lucky to be alive. God bless you and your boss

For me summer was all about a good buzzbait or diving crank. Fall has been square bill or a pop r. I river fish 90% of time though

I have. Little 5` 9" fenwich ml action rod with lews speed shot 2 ball bearing reel my dad bought like 20 years ago. Put some 6 lb test on it and love it for catching panfish. Short rod is easy to walk the bank and long enough to cast a good distance. Probably not the ideal set up but for free it works great. I like the 6 kb test just incase i hook into a carp or something i am not chasing i still have a good chance to bring them in and not snap my line if i am patient

I was not a big circle hook guy at first either, but i have noticed losing less fish with them, and they turn in the catfish`s mouth which just makes for a better hook set. It is better for the fish too imo. Just what works for me. The little tug instead of the big pull hook set takes time to get used to. Another great way to catfish is cut carp on a bobber at night. Works really well. About 18 inches deep in the right hole can bring in nice cats

I found lots of line, lots and lots of rats nest fishing line. Nothing worth note though. I lost several lures thats for sure

I have caught more fish on a single lure this year than everything else combine. This bomber fat free guppu green white belly with orange stripe. 1/2 oz square bill. Will post photo tomm. What is your lure oc choice when nothing else is working

when the monster cats are biting it is very fun, but it can be very slow. The thing i love about bass fishing the most is the chase. It is finding the fish and getting them to bite on the right lures. I think for me bass fishing is all about the chase and finding the fish more than the actual fish i catch.

I love catching a big hawg of a catfish. Bass are my favorite for sure, but i wanted to start a catfishing thread for advice. Personally i keep it simple. 5/0 circle hooks, carolina rigs, 25 lb leaders and 50 lb braid is my go to set up with cut bait

Going out with a ul rod and reel and 4 lb test for crappie is awesome. Some of the most fun i had all summer. They just love to eat
