  1. Vibration is a word often used out of context when it come to rod sensitivity. Sensitivity when comparing rods has little or nothing to do with vibration. To me it boils down to the rotation of your wrist or the load placed on your fingers as you hold the rod and the line has added or subtracted pull. To answer the OP’s question, I feel shorter rods transmit line movements to the hands of the fisherman better than longer rods. Balance, torque, leverage all are a factor on how your hand and ultimately your brain interprets the line movement.
  2. Do not use ewg hooks. Round bend offset hooks work better for me. If using an ewg is required for a particular presentation I’ll find something else to throw.
  3. I think the new low rider is quite a few steps ahead of the old bucoo line. I’ve never used the bucoo sr. The new low rider is a very nice rod for the money.
  4. I think size 5 is what you need.
  5. Do you normally skip with a XH? I would have trouble skipping with an XH rod in general. I stick with MH or HVY. The SV is setup to skip better than other Daiwa reels but I would think that reel would be up to the task as well. I don’t particularly like braid for skipping and fresh powerpro is pretty unruly on its own. You might just need more time “on the diving board”. Great idea btw.
  6. My take is a very supple line like tatsu has poor shock strength so you need a “long” piece of it to absorb the load. Leader material is stiffer and has higher shock strength so you can get by with a shorter length. It is always a game of give and take with fishing line offerings.
  7. Better than tatsu or better than blue label?

  9. Daiwa Tatula and Falcon Lowriders are nice rods in that price range.
  10. 16lb fluorocarbon mainline, 3/4oz sinker, small spro swivel , 14lb mono leader and a 3/0 round bend offset worm hook. Reel down and sweep. You will rarely miss.
  11. Use it and it will break in.
  12. Hall of fame for cheap mediocre line. Lol.
  13. How much are the Fuego sv’s?
  14. Are you paying for tatsu like everyone else or are you getting a discount as a moderator? Just curious since you usually promote products that sponsor the forum.
  15. Stren. I cannot find a nylon mono that line that I like better. From big game to defier, stren wins .
  16. Do you think chipping will still be an issue if the base paint is still on the reel?
  17. 7’ hvy Hammer. The best frog rod I’ve used. It’s a mod fast/fast action that loads perfectly for long cast and the action was also great on hooksets. The length and weight didn’t wear out my wrist either.
  18. I fail at tying the palomar. I assume I’m twisting it but can’t see what I’m actually doing wrong. I can easily break off 16lb line without even wrapping the line around my hand. I stick with the uni but I think the San Diego jam is a slightly better knot. Go go with you have the most confidence in. Works best every time.
  19. Stick with the dark colors in plastic (black, June bug, etc) and chartreuse black back for cranks.
  20. It’s like a tree that falls in the forest.........
