Daiwa Fuego SV

Featured Replies

?I would like to believe I am the first in the U.S of America to get my hands on the Fuego SV. The reel is awesome other than the plastic feel it gives me. It’s smoother than the fuego ct, less noisy. However, the CT feels a lot more solid in my hands. I will try to fish it tomorrow.

Ohhh you sobI thought I was going to be the first one to have it. Mine won’t be here for a couple weeks. Let us know how it feels that looks slick

That's awesome man, love my CT. Make sure to let us know what you think of it. Might have to get my hands on one... where did you order from? I haven't bought JDM before, I only know of JapanTackle.

Funny how JDM reels (or at least non-USDM reels) have printing on the box and the reel in English.     jj

It looks dope! Love the red and black

First non t-wing SV in a while huh? Interested to see how it performs.

I'd be interested in hearing what the supposed advantages of the SV over the CT are.

You got details of what this does for the reel - I've read quite a bit about SV reels and still am no closer to understanding the advantages. Wouldn't a BFS spool for a CT give you the same thing?

How much are the Fuego sv’s?

So I tested the reel this morning. First impression was it’s impossible to blacklash, crazy how a spool can make so much difference. Second, it doesn’t cast as far as the fuego CT, maybe it is because of my casting techniques ?‍♂️ Also it doesn’t have a spool tension knob, so no adjustment there. It reels a little bit smoother than the ct as well, less gear noise.

It’s a bit lighter than the ct. I cannot tell if the body is metal or graphite because the body feels like plastic, but at the same time it doesn’t flex like one. Having said that, the fuego ct feels more sturdy. I would say if the fuego Sv was a corvette, the ct would be a charger.?

I ordered mine from China. I bought it and had my colleague from Shanghai ship it to me. It was about 130-140 usd shipped.

I like it so far??

It does have a spool tension knob. Its the “zero adjust” knob . Its the same thing as a CC knob and can be adjusted. Just a little more difficult to turn but it will loosen up overtime.

No, its not the same thing. Sv spools behave differently in different reels. Theres different spool depths, sizes, inductors, ramps, springs, and so on. Theres 8 years of literature on all the different sv spools out there to reed up on.

The require little to no thumbing and basically turn your baitcast reel into a spinning reel.

As my arsenal is 5 BCs and 5 Spinning - I'll save my money...I currently do all my skipping with spinners anyway.

I have a problem with the fuego Sv. I had my drag at max, but the reel still slips when I pull it with my hand, which is not possible with the fuego ct.

anyone know what the problem is?

From my experience, most baitcasters will still give up line when pulled by hand even with the drag cinched down though some will take more effort than others.

Based on the pics posted, youre losing 2lbs of drag which may be what you're feeling.

Never mind, I found the problem. It’s line that’s slipping on the spool, not the drag....

Buy it overseas. It will be cheaper

Anyone had one of these on the water yet? I'm curious to hear how they perform.

Similar to the tatula sv, but the fuego sv is a bit bigger and heavier. I also bought a tatula sv for $150 during Black Friday,  and I like the tatula sv better. It’s the best reel for $150 if you could get the discount.

Yeah, if they made tatula sv without the T-wing I would own a fleet of them, but me and the T-wing don't play well together. Good to hear the fuego is similar. I'm not crazy about the solid red but I guess I'll make do. Thanks for your input.

Bit the bullet and ordered myself one of these last night in the 6.3. Planning to use it for jerkbaits. The standard line guide plays with icy line much better than the T wing does so hoping it gets here before it warms up too much.

Be sure and let us know when you get it, and what you think of it.
