Favorite toad rods?
This is my favorite and unbreakable.

The $EC has no equal
I can't believe the guy from Memphis is putting down the SEC. TV will always be about money. More money being brought in by SEC teams= better coverage. No one needs to get pissy about it. Money DOES run the world, after all. Anthony

On the water pics!
Pitures! This is Wheeler, the creek downriver from Indian.

Who can tell me where this is?
Here is a hint- It is on Wheeler. I know some N. Alabama boys have fished it.... Beautiful place. Anthony

Lightest rod blanks
Micro TiSiC s are lighter than Recoils, by the way. With a 2.6oz blank, I figure you could build a rod that weighs ~3.5oz or so. Blank weight is heavily dependant on length. Anthony

Another rod build - First tiger wrap
Is that Gudebrod olive over black and white? I have done a couple of those exact tigers on a frog rod. With olive grips. Looks good. I especially like the guide wraps. Anthony

Melting wheel weights
The lead melting pots aren't that expensive. Lee makes some value pots. Get some flux too (candle wax) to clean off the impurities in the lead. Anthony

Plasma, worth it or not?
I use the TV for two things- Halo3 and SEC football. HD football cannot be beat. Anthony

Plasma, worth it or not?
I weighed the options and bought an LCD. Looked at probably 35 tvs and went with the Vizio. Have 0 complaints, and while I could see a difference between it and say a JVC, it wasn't worth a grand. Anthony

Lighten any rod by 75% today!!!!!!!
+/- 8 oz on a rod+reel is the proverbial ton. I like the lightest stuff just because, although most of the stuff I use isn't particularly light. Anthony

Custom Curado
I painted a reel to match a rod not too long ago. I learned a lot from negative reinforcement. 1. Bearing and other clearances (sideplates, driveshaft, even handle knobs) are fairly tight. Mask those areas. 2. Paint is fairly thick. Can be around 0.010" if you aren't careful. I was amazed at how tight some of the areas of the reel were. If I were to do it again, I would use Brownell's Gun-kote or Alumahyde for the black. I know the Gun-kote is indestructible and applies very thinly. I would mask off the sideplate edges and not paint the interior of the frame. I would have removed all of the existing paint. My reel looked only decent. And I have already scuffed it up good. Upon reassembly the whole process went downhill fast. I'll post pics later. Anthony

I'm looking for a new knife
There are several different kinds of 440. 440a -sucks. 440c is great, though, and one of the steels that steels were judged by for a long time. Buck uses a 440-something. However, Paul Bos does there heat treat and he is the best bar none. There are three things in a knife steel-corrosion resistance, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. 154cm is a good combination of all three. D2 holds an edge better but is a pain to resharpen. M2 is the same way. There are charts online that list the knife steels and there attributes. Anthony

I'm done.
I kinda feel like big brother is playing Billy Jack. "You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna take your licenses and search your car and knock your door down and you know what?" What? "There's not a dern thing you're going to be able to do about it." Anyway, I have always like Steven King's stuff, as far as entertainment goes. The Stand is one of the best, but my favorite is The Gunslinger. All 7 of them. Anthony

Got a boat today
Free stuff!!! That rocks. I would have given that for a good Mariner. Anthony

Who uses custom rods?
I don't see them as being a bad candidate for custom gear, they just have to accept responsibility for their actions. Anthony

Who uses custom rods?
It seems like high-end rod manufacturers are perpetuating this lack of accountability of their purchasers. I didn't know people bought rods just for the warranty. I have witnessed one honest broken rod, although it was being asked to do more than it was supposed to. Anthony

I'm looking for a new knife
My Ares is coated, and it does wear. You can see the pic. I have used and abused the knife for 4 years though, and I think it adds character. A serrated edge is better for cutting thick fibrous rope, but I think that is all it may be better at. I personally hate serrated edges. A plain edge is much easier to sharpen and cuts most other things better. Anthony

New Batson RX8 blanks
Do you have the weight of that blank? Anthony

Gun Question
Unloaded guns aren't quite as useful as a good hammer.

Tommy Biffle?
We were catching fish in front of him. All massive too, like 12". It was cool. Anthony

Who uses custom rods?
What Flechero said. Rods just don't break under normal usage that often. Can't expect the small builder to just build another one for free cause you drop the locker lid on it. I think the pride of ownership would be higher in a custom rod. Anthony
