  1. Got out today about 7-12, caught 11 bass ,1 on a frog and 10 on a double wide beaver with the best of those weighing 5-1. Oh and let's see, face; check, fish;check, shirt;check,OK this post should be @LrgmouthShad approved?
  2. @ol'crickety ,thats why I post in the latest pics thread and never do full on reports, that way I can say I caught 7 fish and a couple nice ones,no mention of the others that maybe weighed a combined 2 lbs. @LrgmouthShad you kill me I just about fell out of my chair laughing
  3. Got out today about 1-5:30, until the wind chased me off, caught 7 bass, 1 on a buzzbait and 6 on a double wide beaver, with 2 good ones on the beaver weighing 4-1and 4-14.
  4. @ol'crickety I fish mostly old dammed up mill ponds and small lakes. I do occasionally venture east to my old stompin' grounds to fish the river Charles.
  5. Not actually a 'purchase' as I didn't buy these ,but thought I'd share since I won these in the recent giveaway here on b.r. which is pretty cool for me because I never win anything
  6. I've never used any senko type baits but I do have a stash of asst. Stickbaits that ive found over the years so maybe someday I'll get around to it.
  7. Fished this morning 7-11, caught 8 bass, 2 on a buzzbait and 6 on a double wide beaver with the 1st of those 6 the best of the day weighing 3-12
  8. All my drags get locked down 1st day of the season and stay locked until I'm done for the year.
  9. Early spring or late fall I could probably squeak by with 6 or 8, in season maybe 10. Been going with an even dozen in my 10' jon. Can get a little "messy" at times but... rather have it than need it.
  10. Been a bit of a struggle since I got back from Vaca to find and also land fish, but finally got a decent one today on a frog that weighed 4lbs.even
  11. Congrats again on the new pb @ol'crickety,awesome fish!!
  12. @Catt I thought I as the only person that new what those are and ate them, imo the best candy bar ever mde. @Darth-Baiter I bought a box of boo berry last week, thoroughly enjoying it. As for childhood memories candy cigs and bubble gum cigars. And no i never smoked.
  13. Yea @ol'crickety I was there, however I was on vacation, and having read about your early morning adventures i can say i was probably just getting out of bed when you're getting OFF the water.I was a bit north of you I'd guess , my fishing is mostly done somewhere between Lincoln and Millinocket.and oh yes they jump and many are lost but no less fun to see.
  14. Finally got back to Maine after nearly 2 years to chase some smallies. Never found any big ones(3+), but got plenty of spunky chunks. Buzzbait and baby torpedo did most of the work, with a spinnerbait and a few other lures chipping in.
  15. It looks like your blade is on backwards, the bend should be towards the rear of the bait. The extra resistance of the blade like this would cause the bait to ride higher.
  16. Got out this morning about 7-10:30, only boated 3 bass all on a spinnerbait with the best weighing 4-9. Also had one looked 4+ hit and spit at the boat, she was jumping before I even knew she was on. --bonus pic of a 3-5 I caught on a 10" worm last week. (Wednesday? I think).
  17. Got out this morning from 730 -11. Managed to boat 5 bass ,3on a buzzbait ,1 on a plopper and 1 on a frog as a follow up to a pair of plopper whiffs that weighed 4-3
  18. Just a little psa for anyone wanting to follow @Bluebasser86 's lead, be sure to check the prices on regular packs. For example some 4"yo mama's are priced at $2 per8pk. Which comes out to $24 for 12 pks./96baits as opposed to $46for a 100pk.
  19. I just stick the spool in a boot and cinch down the laces, stuff a little kitchen towel in there if I need a little tension.
  20. Put me in the chuck 'em out camp.
  21. Years ago myself and my 2 buddies were on our yearly canoe/camp/fish trip down the saco river in maine. We were sitting around a fire one night, the wind was blowing and my bud says hey I think this tree is gonna come down tonite, and if it does its gonna land on your (my) tent. I said ehh that trees been there for 40 years what's the chance it comes down tonite? Later I went to zonk out ,I heard that tree creaking and thought hmmmm, what if he's right, so I pulled my stakes and dragged my tent and all its contents about 5-6 feet away. At some point during the night I was awakened to a loud crash as that tree landed where my tent had been before I moved it. Phew!
  22. 7-2 xh/f- frogs 7-6 h/xf - punch rig 7-5 h/f - 'heavy+1' for when I want a 2nd punch rig or frog, also for 1oz spinnerbaits. 7-3 h/f toads *edit* forgot my toad rod and corrected length of frog rod.
  23. My favorite, killed me to have to leave for what turned out to be nothing
  24. Got out for about 3 hours this morning ,cut out early to avoid predicted t-storms that never materialized. Boated 8 bass on buzzbaits with the best one weighing 5-7.
