Look at waypoints on computer
Hmm. I have a gen2 non touch lowrance. I may try uploading them to a card and using the navionics app on my tablet. I will pass that on about the contour elite.

Look at waypoints on computer
Is there a way to pull waypoints off my lowrance unit and look at them on a desktop? It would be alot easier on a bigger screen on a desk in the ac, rather than sitting in the boat in the garage. What about hummingbird units as well? I have a fishing partner wanting to do the same.

Changing hooks on KVD 1.5 Squarebill
I also swap out hooks to the kvd mustads. I do this on all of my treble hooks. I normally go up a size too. Ie: a stock #6 becomes a #4kvd. I buy in 100pks at captain hooks warehouse and its a lot cheaper than the 6 or 11pk normally found, but they only have more common sizes 2,4, and 6 usually. For my bigger hooks for 8 and 10xd i get the 11pk normally still.

Flipping and pitching technique question
I was taught by a much better fisherman than myself when i began flipping n pitching that i "am gonna suck at it for a while at first so learn left first and then right handed and it will be easier". He was correct. It helps to be able to do it with either hand i think. Mostly due to fishing so much with 2 people on the bow, i dont have to worry about being in their way or vice versa.

Pitching with hook that has a screw on pin?
Alot of times. Its a lil more aggrevating to tie to me with that style bait keeper. If im in a hurry or get aggrevates i go nack to a palomar and really dont notice any diffrence in hook ups.

Punch skirts?
I buy the punch skirts from seibert, and always wire tied. I get them seperate from the punch weight. That way i have the option to use a skirt or not, and keep my heavy tungsten inventory down, saving me money.

Pitching with hook that has a screw on pin?
X2 for the trokar tk130. Only hook i use for flipping/punching.

Line for crankbaits
I use 10-12# abrazx or invisx on all my cranks, unless its deep winter and i down size to 8#. I usually have 4 or 5 cranks tied on at all times, 2 squarebills, a med diver, and a mag or xdeep, all on casting , and a shadrap on spinning tackle

Very lightweight pants?
Ive found that its cooler to me to be covered up, especially once i get a sweat going and any wind moving. I wear lighter colors like white or baby blue, and khaki pants. I had a forest green shirt, but it was really warm with the bama sun beaming down on it all day.

Buff questions.
I have the simms gaiter with the holes in it. It helps with the fogging but not cures it. I cut between 2 of the holes and try to keep it lined up so that cut section is right on my nostrils, and it really helped.

Crankbait rod help
For squarebills and most cranks i prefer a med-mod. I have a pair of 7' med-mod ethos from acadamy i love. For my bigger 5/6xd and medium size cranks i have a 7'2" mh mod fast, that was designed for spinerbaits. Them the big boys 8/10xd and mag squarebills are on a 7'10" mh mod fast.

Very lightweight pants?
I like columbia as well. The magellan stuff at acadamy is just as good i think for much better prices. I cant really tell much diffrence between most of it and columbia. Ive suspected they are made together, but its just a hunch, no proof.

Favorite Sun Gloves
Simms solarflex sungloves. I like the open palm. Had mine for 3 seasons now and love them. It took a trip or two to get used to wearing gloves, but now i dont eve notice them. Much better than greasy hands and fingers from sunblock. I keep them, my neck gaiter, and a wide brim hat together. I like the columbia shirts personally, but i never put them in the dryer, just hang up on clothesline, its usually the dryer that damages clothes to me.

24v Trolling Motor Wiring
Ours still ran well too when we replaced it. The pins on the foot pedal it hinged on to turn the head were wore slap out and made it hard to turn and made a grinding sound. Went to an fortrex and recessed tray and havent looked back. Much more power, never between speeds anymore, and much more comfortable all day recessed. I added a jumper between neg on bat1 and pos on bat2 and used an existing red cable on bat1 pos and black cable on bat 2 neg. On the plug end i verified my 24v with a meter and wired to those terminals on the male end of plug. Left the other pair abandoned in place after i cut exposed ends off and taped them up. Never know if i may need them again.

24v Trolling Motor Wiring
Yea. It was pointless. Occasionally the switch would get flipped and it would barely move the boat.

24v Trolling Motor Wiring
Thats the way our hydrasport came. It had the origional omc tm til about 3 years ago when we upgraded to a fortrex. The omc had a 12/24 switch on the foot pedal. It had all 4 wires on the plug and converted as needed inside the foot pedal to give you 12 or 24. I rewired it at the plug and the batteries and did away with the 12v option and only use 2 of the 4 wires.

Disposing of old fishing line?
I normally shove mine in a gatorade bottle and toss in recycle bin.

Storing Senkos
I usually leave the one im using on the hook, and keep my supply in the bag they came in sealed up. I have never had any problem with them rusting up on the hook (gammy ewg or wacky) but i have not left them for months either. No frozen lakes here, so no off season.

Recommendations - casting rod for jigs and spinnerbaits
I have the 7'mh-f avid (reg avid, i refuse to use the x or any micro eye rod) and use 3/8 or 1/2 jigs the vast majority of the time with it and no problems, even without trailers. Its a really good jig rod. For my taste its a lil stiff for spinnerbaits though. I prefer more of a mod-fast action for spinnerbaits, that dobyns you have would be perfect to me.

Small pond, small LMB, small Spinnerbaits
I love inline spinners like rooster tails for situations like that.

Flipping and pitching
I flip n pitch with most of my rods at least some, especially pitching. I love the stealthy entry it can provide. I started pitching with a dedicated champion 765 flip/pitch, but now i do it on most of my rods, especially worms n jigs, or anytime im in shallow water.
-
How do you organize your crankbaits?
By size/type in 3700 boxes. I like throwing cranks and have a ton and 5 dedicated crank rods. At least 2 are almost always on deck of boat. 1.5 &2.5 lucky craft 1.5 &2.5 strike king Squarebill (not lc or sk) Shallow 1-5' Middle n/deep lil n normans 5-10' 5/6xd Deep 10+ 8/10xd and mag cranks

Lure knocker/retriever
X2. I have one like this that goes to 25ft. Only thing in boat that saved far more money than it cost. Broke similar old aluminum one and didnt bat an eye at spending $35 for a new one. Never had any good luck with the ones that attach to line myself.
