Is it worth visiting Occoquan Reservoir to fish from shore?

I would love to catch a snakehead. My plan is to target them one day this year.

Thanks! I have only fished with my Tatula on 3 or 4 trips, but so far I like the bail and how it closes better than on my Stradic. That may change the more that I use it. So far I am happy with both reels.

I have lost a lot of hardbaits this year already. I think it is because I am fishing new (rocky) water from shore. That being said, I agree with your post—especially topwaters.

What did you like better about the Stradic?

I would put it on a rod that you are going to use a lot so that you get to enjoy your new reel.

Yeah I noticed that today. I actually didn’t respool it this season. Whatever line I had on there is holding up well as far as manageability. Its either mccoy or yozuri hybrid.

These are my 2 newest reels (and rods). My goal is to give the reels a strong comparison this year. Today was my first time using the Tatula LT. I bought the Stradic a few years ago, but have only fished with it maybe 5 times. I caught my first 2 bass of the year today—largemouth on the tatula and a smallmouth on the stradic.

Funny, I just ordered some of these a couple of days ago when eBay had $3.00 off. Have you tried them. I ordered size 6. My estimated delivery is 4/12–5/23.

That rod sounds like it would be a blast to catch smaller fish on. Try small/light squarebills with it. I have a ml mf aetos casting rod and it might be my most fun rod.

To me the wooden sammy’s look like they have a steeper angle near the line tie than this lure. I have never handled a wooden one, but on their website they have a length of 4”.
