  3. fwiw, i was busting off 12 lb fluoro, at the knot, on the hook set, with a 7’ MH rod. i had to do something. i went up to 15 lb line and switched from a Palomar knot to the one Shaw Grigsby uses. so far, so good. just my two cents.

  13. i did that for a few years when i was a younger man. a 12’ johnny, clamp-on trolling motor, and a battery fit perfectly in the bed of my 66 Chevy pick up truck. i slid the boat in transom first with all the gear detached, secured the boat with a rope tied to the handle on the front and the rest is history. i stowed the boat upside down on two saw bucks at the house, flipped it over, and it slid perfectly in and out of the truck. git r done ?
  14. High Rock is a real good largemouth lake for sure and it gets beat to death, especially on the weekend. i’ve had some magical days over there. it can muddy up a bit after heavy rains too. pay attention to your map if the water is low. Lake Norman should be on fire in April and it’s mostly smallish spotted bass but they’ll fight you like a crazy person. they should be right on the bank, on docks, and secondary points. downsizing can help with catching numbers. boat traffic can be a nightmare on the weekend, depending on the weather.
