  1. I carry a Glock g43x for a summer concealed. A glock 19 with Trijicon RMR for winter concealed. And a GLock 17 with a trijicon RMR adn surefire x300u for duty weapon.
  2. The HK USP series has served multiple nations in combat as well as thousand of agencies worldwide for law enforcement. Its large and in charge but if they can find a proper holster system its a great gun for duty.
  3. I shoot a lot of long range precision guns over the years. Service based, competition, hunting and for fun... Still have many different go to's but these days I prefer these two for most application...
  4. I usually take 6 rigs out with me kayak fishing for smallmouth.. Spinning -weightless wacky senco -Ned rig -weightless fluke Casting -whopper plopper 75 -Dark sleeper -Keitech swimbait
  5. I have found the Dobyns 702 to be a great all around finesse rod.
  6. In my area color really doesnt matter. Ive run red, black, green and chartreuse and its far more technic than that little 1/10 ned head...
  7. THIS. In this order as well...
  8. Ive been a largemouth guy all my life. I moved to northern Idaho and I started smallie chasing and Im hooked. Love it...
  9. I switched over to a cashion elite frog rod this season. Extra heavy 7.4 That thing slays, I fish the slop when using frogs and I dont care how deep they go in the soup, I can yank em out...
  10. These conversations could go one forever. Its all so personal preference based. Is the NRX better than the Brailest? Yes and no. They do different things. Sensitivity they are pretty close in my opinion. I would actually chose the Orochi due to the cost if I was to do it again.
  11. I own a handful of loomis stuff and love it. My NRX is one of my favorites by far. The Megabass stuff, especially the Brailest is a super fast tip but its more backbone and stiffer than the Loomis.
  12. So many nice bottom contact rods...This season Ive been using the Megabass Orochi Brailest and love it...Great for all bottom contact baits..
  13. For me its pretty much the same all day when finesse fishing. The only difference is the 30 minutes after sunset is all about topwater.
  14. I too run a ATAK. Ive spent 5 years in it at this point and I have yet to find a boat better for stability, durability and utility. I have decided to go with a Hobie pro Angler 360 next year though and pass the ATAK down to my son, but it will always be around. Wilderness makes a hell of a stable boat.
  15. I use my crankbait rods for topwater as well.
  16. I love his videos. Really informative but so much of that info does not work for me at all in Northern Idaho. I think one tip out of the 5 play out for me. Still great video.
  17. For smallies we usually stop throwing jerks when the water warms up but lately Ive been running a vision 110jr on super hot days and doing pretty good. I love jerkbait fishing
  18. This morning I was smallmouth fishing when I hooked a really nice one. I let him tire himself out then got him in the boat. As I was weighing him he decided to basically explode in a flurry of excitement, making me the drop the digital scale. So of course over the side it goes, with a scale clipped in his bottom lip. He was trying to figure out how to swim away with it when I managed to net him. Pretty comical actually...
  19. Im in Boundary county Idaho, basically right on the Canadian border and we were around 110 today. History breaking. Cant even imagine it this hot up here. Crazy.
  20. Thanks for all the help everyone. So I decided to try out the GLoomis IMX-pro NRR. I took it out two days straight after I received it in the mail and it was a hoot to catch smallies on. We tore it up for 30 something fish. I really like the feel of the Loomis rods, I think this one is my 4th or 5th. I would definitely suggest its a great option for anyone looking for a dedicated NED rig...
  21. What baits are you using? Im a few hours north of you but for me Ive found that if Im running a finesse rig to SLOW down. If I get into a groove and power fish my senko/trd/shakey/DS then I tend to get the little guys. When I dead stick I get better bites. Saturday morning I broke up the monotony and started running a Jerk bait over drop offs with super long pauses. Second cast pulled a 3.2lb smallie... Good luck!
  22. I fished early morning Friday, then again this morning...Think the sun got ahold of me. Tired, worn down. Respect that big yella ball up there. She is a mean teacher.
  23. I did that last weekend. Put 6 rigs on my yak, ton of tackle, and ended up catching close to 20 on a Ned Rig. Never even touched anything else.. So tomorrow we shall see how it pans out!
  24. So I have revisited my Ned rig fishing and fallen back in love with it. I repurposed my drop shot rod (Gloomis 822dsr ) but Id really like to have a drop shot ready to go as well. So Im in need of a rod for my Ned. Ive been reading like crazy and some people like em stiffer but my drop shot rod has done pretty well for me. I predominately throw a 1/10th ounce Ned head. So what are you using ?
