  1. I've bought two of those this month. They are sweet....
  2. I've heard of it...never done it. @FishTank - I didn't know it had a name. I'm also speaking of about 34yrs ago, when I was 10. It caught everything that swam.
  3. 2 jigheads about 12-18" apart wearing mister twister grubs was one of my main bass attacks when I was a young kid. Just reeled it in steady. I ought to try it with 2.8" swimmers.
  4. I almost went for a silver widow with the christmas sale. Such a sweet looking rod...on the X-ray LMX blank. Next year....
  5. Where it gets confusing is when you see the 855 cbr is a 7'1"H/Fast. CBR power ratings are also a little different. That 866 deep flex is one I'd like to own. I have the 864, and it's great.
  6. Haven't received all my stuff yet, but the power swimmers are nice..
  7. Yeah...saw that rod 'box' when @jrob78 posted his zenon. My first zenon arrived and I was kinda impressednby their 'system' of rod shipping. I have ordered an embarrasing amount of stuff from pure fishing this week.
  8. I haven't fished one, but on paper the psycho stick has the goods. Fuji K/SIC's and a 46T blank are hard to beat.
  9. This is how I roll. I just simply love fishing rods. All rods have a different taper and are unique. That's why I don't sell rods when I get new ones, like I did when I was younger. If I need an aircraft hanger to hold my collection....like jay leno...it's gone too far
  10. My secret bait when I was younger was the gene larew 8" hooktail worm in tomato red. Larew ruined that worm when they started injection molding instead of hand pouring. Then it was the charlie brewers slider worm. My boater gave me one in a post spawn tournament on lake of the ozarks. He took 1st....I was 2nd. This was like '92... word of mouth and bassmaster/bassin' magazine were all we had.
  11. That code is no longer active. I did get an order placed last night, but talked myself into a couple of zenon rods. Apparently the fishing gods said 'nope'
  12. Thanks! You saved my order. I just received my first order tonight....took 2 days. Remarkably quick for sure. The crash craws look great...and come in blister packs like the rage bug.
  13. Literally shopped for a couple hours to get another pure fishing order together....and the code is no longer active
  14. I've never thrown a jerkbait that floats. As a kid in the 80's, all the jerkbaits floated, but we used lead tape to make them suspend. Out of the 4 JLS orders I placed this year, 3 orders came with a floating Megabass 110 (type R)as the 'gift'. It says 'hi float' on the packaging. I don't know whether to weigh it down to make it suspend, or fish it as is. Maybe someone can enlighten me on where/when this bait excels.
  15. This. I've had some great results with 'miscolored' worms.
  16. I generally choose a low/no action trailer. I used uncle josh or salt craws back in the day, but these days its a flappin' hog or brush hog with the swim tails trimmed.
  17. I also don't think Living rubber provides amything more of a cold water advantage. Maybe back in the day in the infancy of silicone materialI...but not now. I like the 'finesse' cut silicone, which is just a finer cut strand. Stock on the baby boo jig...a great cold water jig.
  18. Thanks! I planned on spending a bill anyway. Rattlesnakes and airtails get crushed!
  19. I'm looking at those 3.75" paddletails now. They look amazing, and I know grandebass plastics are super soft. This sale is a score fo shizzle.
  20. I thought it was a lake fork bait he posted...didn't know they didn't make them anymore. I think LFT invented the craw tube.
  21. Yes...but bass fishermen are nostalgic, and someone posting a 15yr old team daiwa Zillion would probably get as many or more 'likes' than someone posting a new model.
  22. C-rig and 3/4oz football jig would be top contenders.
  23. Received my lightning rod from pure fishing ($39/clearance). It's a 6ft M. Should be an awesome jerkbait and topwater rod...wish I'd have purchased 2.
