  1. Yeah...I'm assuming you are talking about simmons. I hit numerous auctions last winter and now have a thin 3700 for each (1's/2's).
  2. I think I see a few bds1's. Those are my jam, and I've been snagging them off the 'bay since they are $19 now @ TW.
  3. At the risk of sounding like a hater....what a mess! I'm assuming he spread around and hung up a few boxes of cranks/spinnerbaits for effect, but it triggered my OCD.
  4. Those baits don't make the monkey very hsppy...shows I don't need all those fancy colors I hoard ?
  5. Nice. I like the looks of that combat stick more than the high dollar Insparare. Is the weight reasonable?
  6. I gave your post a grimus, but a good snow is kind of a treat here in Tulsa.
  7. The story of Bill Lewis inventing the rattle trap is interesting. I don't have an article to link or anything, but I remember reading that he traveled around promoting it, and would tell anglers at the boat ramp that it would outfish any crank in their tackle box.
  8. I'm voting Ark Tharp 'One eyed jack' 6'9" M Mod-Fast. $130. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Ark_Randall_Tharp_Honey_Badger_Series_Casting_Rods/descpage-ARKRT.html
  9. All I can tell you for sure, is that Academy will have a sale while Bass Pro is having their spring classic sale. Like Bass Pro, they will mark down their house brand items 25% or so along with other bargains.
  10. The Dick's in Tulsa did get rid of their tackle. The Broken Arrow store (suburb of Tulsa) has tackle IIRC, even though Bass Pro is right down the road. The new Scheels in Tulsa will have only Academy and Walmart to compete with, and will be in the busiest/highest rent location in town.
  11. Many years ago in Bassmaster magazine, Gary Klein smashed the record stringer weight for the 'A day on the lake with a pro' monthly article where pros fished an unknown lake. He was pitching a smoke/red flake berkley power tube with tail tips dipped in chartreuse dye. His performance impressed me enough that I picked up some smoke/red flake power tubes that weekend.
  12. Tulsa town that is. I don't know anything about scheels...I assumed it was like Academy. However, Scheels is going to be one of the anchor stores at Tulsa's largest Mall (Woodland Hills). Saw on the news this morning that they are demo'ing the old Sears that resided there for the last 40 years. Sad to see that, but that is another thread in itself. So, is Scheels a legit fishing tackle store with good selection, or is fishing stuff an afterthought there, like Dick's?

    Those are some jumbo fingers!
  14. I'm sure I'll pick some up during their spring sale (Spring Classic competing sale). I bet they will be $2.99 when the sale starts.
  15. Tackle Tour just reviewed the Ark Tharp 7'6" Mag MH... http://tackletour.com/reviewarkts76mhfc.html
  16. I've never handled one, but there are several reviews on tackle warehouse to check out. The intenza is a rod sporting a 30-ton blank w/ aluminum oxide guides. IMO you could do better for $150. The Ark rods get great reviews...I know @T-Billy is a big fan. They seem to have a lot of blank for the money...even the $60 model has a 36T blank. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=30&searchtext=Ark
  17. Tackle Warehouse has a sale going on...all clearance is marked further down. I'd pick something off the sale page... https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-PROMOPAGE.html?from=basres
  18. There is some competition now, but no cost savings. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Fish_Arrow_Heavy_Poop_Stick_Bait/descpage-FAHP.html
  19. I like the length of the JDM version (5'4" IIRC)...6'11" is too long for my liking.
  20. To fine tune your rod arsenal, if you desire. Lucky craft has 82 colors of the 1.5 squarebill on TW's website...so you can have one for every situation.
  21. Walked by the tackle isle while at walmart today, and noticed that they have the Googan stick worms right next to the Yamamoto's. Both have 7 worms to a pack, with the Yam amoto's running $4.97 a pack, and the Googan's running $5.87 a pack. So...Googan thinks their branding is worth $.90 more per pack? Ludicrous....
  22. The conquest uses the '16 glorious/ultima blank (T1100g). '21 Glorious/Ultima use the Toray m40x material. I'd go to the dark side and pick up a Poison Glorious. If you are clumsy, stick with Loomis and grab an 843mbr.
  23. Never tried spike-it? In the stained waters I fish, an incognito colored bait like green pumpkin or snoke with the tip of tail/legs dipped in chartreuse dye is a hit.
  24. Saw a 'Bass Pros' TV show a while back, and Denny Brauer was fishing a 6" Senko...said it was the only size he used. He fished it on a belly-weighted EWG hook, and employed a 'lift and glide' technique to work it back to the boat.
  25. Baitfuel is freakin' expensive...as well as the new baitmate livescope gel. I'm using Berkley attractant. We all know powerbait works, so I figure their attractant has good odds of being affective.
