  1. If you are referring to the bfs spool...I have a black one on order.
  2. I have 2 80's. Very smooth and good distance. When choosing between SV or standard, It comes down to what you value....more control (SV) or longer casts (non-SV).
  3. Well, the steez is definitely in need of a revamp. Daiwa needs to work on slimming down most of their models. They've made them super low profile, but wide.
  4. Nice work. I used the 844 imx/glx for years for all my bottom contact needs, as well as horny toads and heavy spinnerbaits. I made the mistake of selling my two 844 glx's to pick up 2 of the new version and found the new glx reel seat cramped. I'll definitely add the new nrx version when I find one for a good price.
  5. Charlie Brewer's slider worm on a weedless slider head ?.
  6. Bass pro does over the counter swaps on any of their house brand stuff. I'd just take it back to the store and trade it.
  7. If you love jigs, you should try assembling your own. Just pick up some of your favorite heads, skirt material from fishingskirts.com, and some 4" zip ties for collars, and you are all set. Fun, easy, and addictive.
  8. I noticed this on the daiwa ballistic as well Granted they are marked 'D' for deep spool, there is no standard or shallow version available in the states.
  9. I saw that this AM. I need a couple things from them...and it has to coincide with payday :). Sweet...we expect a report. I noticed the hlc has a black engine cover and handle ?
  10. I've been wanting one of those antares reels for a while now. I'm starting to think they will never be back in stock at digitaka/JLS.
  11. Alabama left time on the clock because they didn't make that 3rd down (3rd and 10 I think) during their last drive. Tennesse making those two big yardage plays to get within field goal range was massive. I enjoyed watching the fans storm the field and tear down the posts. Monumental win/game.
  12. Falcon's customer service is as good as it gets. Their business is just a few miles from my house, and I heard they do rod repairs. Called them a few days ago about them replacing a tip on one of my edge rods. "Sure...bring it in anytime during normal business hours. Tip replacements are $10." ???
  13. I've read several reports on the Tackle Tour forums about the steez hlc. It is apparently 'wild' (fast spool/very low braking), and is designed to throw heavy aerodynamic baits like 1/2oz+ traps. I'd go with the more versatile Zillion HD.
  14. Well, you have a good idea of what you are getting....you know the blanks and the wiebe reel seat (delta is different seat). I have 2 706's and a 786 in the first strike series. They are IM blanks. Both models are a little bit tip heavy, but I still really like them. All my rods were purchased in 2015 though (except the delta), and I'm sure they have been tweaked since then.
  15. Edge black friday sale has started....just got the email. 30% off all rods except the new epitome.
  16. Not me. I'm a tackle junky, and I get satisfaction just looking at all my stuff ? ?
  17. Cabin creek makes a good tube, but I'd have to put ISG at the top. They are high quality and haven't raised their prices in over a decade. https://www.ebait.com/ISG/product/DrmTube.html
  18. If you want BIG, Daiwa makes a 6.75" salt pro minnow. https://www.sierra.com/daiwa-salt-pro-minnow-lure-675~p~91fkf/
  19. I'm torn on whether to fish my WEC collection or just keep them stowed away.
  20. When you have a good day with that crankbait, you can say 'They just wore out my digle today'
  21. I think the broad weight range of the steez (1/16-3/4oz) makes it very versatile and popular. The 902 Loomis (1/8-3/8oz) will be lighter duties only. AGS guides can crack....that is a factor. I prefer the NRX blank over the steez blank, but haven't fished the newest model steez. For the techniques you listed...I'd choose the NRX.
  22. I'd wait for the christmas sale....only a few weeks away.
  23. I have a couple wool blend base layers. I'd recommend them. The place to get them cheap is Sierra Trading.... https://www.sierra.com/s~mens-wool-base-layer/ Smartwool is very good. Sierra has those as well...
  24. Slider worm, Senko, and a trap.
