  1. The jdm monkey has my numbers up quite a bit this year. Call it justification or whatever...but I'd have had some major regret if I didn't take advantage of the crazy exchange rate.
  2. I'll admit that sometimes I don't read all the replies before posting.
  3. Middle of the reel seat would probably be considered the rods 'g spot'.
  4. Poison Glorious 7'4" XH. Rated up to 150g's...can do a 1/2oz total weight jig as well. I picked mine up last month. Shipping was only $27. https://japanlureshop.com/21-poison-glorious-174xh-sb.html
  5. I hear ya. I've also heard that smaller pet supply stores and even vets get things cheaper when they buy larger quantities from the manufacturer....and dump what they can't sell on ebay You just need to be a savvy consumer and look at how many they've sold + feedback.
  6. Yea...I wondered if the dogs up north got fleas. I have a friend in denver that has never seen a tick.
  7. I don't know why the hollow body frog exploded in popularity like it did. Sure they work, but the Scum frog had been around 35+ years, but all the sudden around 2010 or so it became huge and a bait that needed it's own rod. I think most are good...just stick to popular models like the bronzeye and you'll be good.
  8. This is good stuff... https://www.walmart.com/ip/After-Bite-Outdoor-Formula-Pain-Relieving-Gel-Portable-Instant-Relief-Insect-Bite-Treatment-7-oz/105417736?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=576&adid=22222222278105417736_117755028669_12420145346&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-293946777986&wl5=9026545&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=105417736&wl13=576&veh=sem_LIA&gclid=CjwKCAjwi8iXBhBeEiwAKbUofTSAmP6vrAViyoJAmgCBfFSL2ueupy4qDLE65QkufBHf5hUbv_5PrxoCnwsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  9. I'm sure alot of folks on here have dogs...and you've got to keep the fleas at bay. For years I've been putting frontline on their necks...about once a month at $15 a pop. More recently, I saw these flea collars (seresto) that last 8 months, but they were over 50 bones each. I couldn't bring myself to shell out the $150+ it would cost to cover my 3 dogs. However, I was on ebay last week and ran across these seresto flea collars for a crazy bargain at $19.99 shipped. I sprang for them, and now my dogs are covered until march. And...my dogs didn't get ticked when I put the collars on them....they hate it when I put that flea liquid on their necks and would hide. Anyway, I feel like I beat the system....8 months flea control for $20. Can't beat it. Anyone else use these?
  10. A myriad of baits work on docks. Denny Brauer used to recommend a jig...letting it fall to the bottom and shaking it. I watched Shaw Grigsby pitch a bagley db3 to docks in a bassmaster event on grand lake many moons ago. I know this didn't help you...just thought I'd share.
  11. The square A? I own and have caught bass with them. I'm a shallow crankbait junky, and have numerous pricey versions. However, if I'm fishing a pond where my lure retriever is ineffective....the square A is one I'll reach for instead of a $10+ crank.
  12. If you have and like a rod from a line like the Lowrider...I think you can trust the other models to work for their intended purposes.
  13. I read that hushpuppies were invented by anglers frying fish on the docks....their dogs wanted to eat some of the fish and would bark, so instead of giving them fish, they just rolled the cornmeal breading into balls and fried them. Pleased the puppies, and they hushed.
  14. Palomar for everything. I can tie it in a few seconds...after spending several minutes trying to get my line through the eye (bad vision).
  15. Yea....I use Concept Z's for my distance casting. My '16 Zillions/'17 Tatula SV's are the best palming daiwas I own. They are slimmer and a bit taller than the current offerings.
  16. I saw those at Sierra a couple years ago. I was suprised to see them....I think those fantasistas came out around 2014. This was before they introduced the 3M Powerlux resin. Can't argue with GLX sensitivity....I'll take that all day. Anyway....My Premiers showed up, and I'm sure I'll enjoy them. I picked up the 7-6MH to bomb spinnets and chatters. It is light enough and has great balance. Blank definitely qualifies as 'crispy'.
  17. Jig/ worm rod- Tat SV. Spinnerbait/chatterbait or anything you want to throw far- Tat 100. The SV is also capable of throwing a lighter weight bait.
  18. Crap (no pun intended)....you are going to make me shell out for a bag.
  19. Took the words out of my mouth.
  20. I'd like to own a Vigore....owners speak highly of them. Kinds hard to come by as well.
  21. The gen 1 was definitely tip heavy. I wasn't sure about the new + model. The 873 is probably my fav.
  22. 893 is a good rod for pitching or casting texas rigged plastics or finesse jigs . When I set the hook on a 2lber with my 893...I get pretty far down into the blank's power (G.Hackney hookset).
  23. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Just fish the sun beach. I will say...don't be discouraged if you have a hard time with backlashes...cheaper reels are generally less user friendly. Good luck...you'll get there.
