  1. I like the line ID knob....wish all casting reels had this feature.
  2. I definitely stretch them these days. Back when all the tackle shops had an abundance of clearance soft baits....not so much.

Jackall yammyfish (similar to a 3" senko) Slider worms and triple action grubs on 1/16oz slider head.
  4. Sweet. I have the 903 imx cbr and it's the shiz.
  5. The smoothness of the 80 does make an impression. Daiwa will probably sell a boatload of them. The new hyperdrive gearing is making me rethink upgrading some reels I have and just buying new reels.
  6. Nice. Digitaka has 300m spools of bms for a good price. It's a go next order.
  7. You will have to wait for 2 months or so to get ypur edge rod in the mail, but I would still do it. The NFC blanks are superb.
  8. I have a couple black widows and several first strike rods from Edge. Love them. It does take about 10 weeks to get your sticks, but Edge frequently runs sales and it's worth the wait.
  9. Been wanting to try the BMS Sniper for a while. Have you used it before? Does it have sections of gray/smoke color?
  10. Those are popular rod lines....which model or what techniques will the rod be used for?
  11. Received two packages of goodies yesterday. Up first is my Digitaka order; 2 Tatula 80's, 4 slp 'power round' cork knobs, and 7 Deps 'B Custom' bladed jigs. Daiwa's new Hyperdrive gearing will widen your eyes when you turn the handle....reels feel crazy smooth. Next is my Sierra Trading order. I ordeted some sunglasses(Revos...not pictured), 8 bags of Jackal Yammyfish, 2 bags 6" 13 fishing bubble butt worms, 2 KVD sexy frogs, and 4 Daiwa TD Minnows.
  12. I think you're fine with the 6 gear. A 6 ratio was the fastest available not too long ago.
  13. Bandit 100 and Lucky Craft's 1.5
  14. Abu is probably the least popular of the jdm lines....in the U.S. anyway. I think I've seen 1 jdm abu reel (bf8) and a few jdm fantasista rods on the boards, but that's it. Not sure where they are manufactured.
  15. I just ordered two tatula 80's for pitch/flip. I have a couple steez....they are super nice, but not what I'd choose for a punching reel. The 6.2oz Tat is about as light weight as I'd go considering it will be on a long heavy/XH rod. I also think brass gears would be a must. Magnesium flexing? I thought magnesium was more rigid than aluminum (and also why it transmits vibrations better).
  16. I'm in the NRX camp. You are a Loomis die hard...stick with a Loomis blank.
  17. Those ISG tubes are superb. I'll be going back to them when I run out of my stock of SK bleeding tubes I picked up on clearance.
  18. That surprises me. I've had a couple of rods show up broken, but they were all from sierra trading and they ship rods in thin cardboard tubes (still love the place though). All my jdm rods were shipped in pvc. Hope it all works out. Major bummer.
  19. I think all of the 'line conditioning' products are just repurposed products. KVD is quick detailer, Reel Magic is silicone spray, and sounds like Reel Snot is mineral oil.

  21. I use meguiars quick detailer, and turtle wax ice when spooling for a longer lasting waterproofing measure.
  22. To me, that worm looks like it's too thick for that hook.
  23. 8" Gene Larew hooktail worm in tomato red. I used to go through a bag of those worms a weekend as a kid.
  24. The tall collar made of taut skirting material creates more drag.
