  1. Most blank manufacturers are using Toray graphite. Here is their stat page. https://www.toraycma.com/products/carbon-fiber/
  2. I would go Stradic. I don't need a lot of line capacity, so a jdm shallow version would be preferable.
  3. Sweet. Can't wait to buy a pile of them at $3.20 during the Christmas sale.
  4. Just saw all the $3.99 bombers on TW. Someone mentioned these, and I figured it was just one cheap bait in the line....like Lucky Craft's $6 squarebill. Nope. There ate numerous $3.99 bombet baits, from the fat free fry to the 1oz fat free shad DD. They are already selling like pancakes. Strike King will have to make a move.
  5. I also purchased a large number of d bombs during the christmas sale a few years ago when they were 30-35% off. I'm normally a RI beaver guy, but the d bombs seem to work fine. For me, the big fish beaver bait is the RI double wide 5.2 beaver in big texan.
  6. Heck...I don't know. Are you implying 'baitcasting finesse' mrans more than the title indicates? (not rhetorical..I'm asking) I figured any light powered bait rod would be consideted a bfs rod.
  7. I just otdered my first bfs rod....mainly for UL crankbaits. I went with the Yamaga Blanks blue current 69b (6'9", 2-6lb). If it is too light for the bass in my area, it will become a crappie caster.
  8. Check out Academy's h20 Express rods (house brand). You can get more bang for your buck. The tac 40 rods are an adrena knockoff and look pretty good. https://www.academy.com/p/h2o-xpress-new-tac-40-spinning-rod?sku=7-1-black-medium-fast
  9. Those Zillion HD's are slick. My Zillion 10's have the same paint job.....me likey.
  10. That is a lot of prepping fo shizzle. I like matching rods as well....it is appealing to my eyes and nourishes my OCD. If I find a rod series I like...I want several of them.
  11. Someone said recently in a thread that they don't ogle their tackle. I do. No shame in my game. I was just admiring some of my wood baits last night. ??

Have been wanting to try those and the cow tongue.... https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=30&searchtext=Cow+tongue
  13. For $100...it is most likely going to be a chinese built rod. More bang for your buck as well. As mentioned, a falcon bucco would be a good choice.
  14. That reminds me of the jig and pig wrap that kept your pork frog from drying out.
  15. +1. This will be a game changer.... http://tackletour.com/previewicast2022edgeepitome.html
  16. Adrena and lower are made in China. Poison Glorious/Ultima are made in Japan. I will say that chinese manufacturing has improved...one of my nicest built rods is made in china (Daiwa BLX).
  17. Nice rig dude. I see you are in Norman....lived there from '99-'07. Went to school there and stayed around a few years after. Great ponds to fish, which Tulsa doesn't have.
  18. Just a ZPI handle, CC cap, and some stickers.
  19. No...an ugly stick will not blow anyone away. You don't need to spend a lot, but if you can save up $80 or $100 for a rod...it would improve feel quite a bit. You can keep the ugly stick for moving baits.
  20. It's on my list....along with the 841. I currently have the 903 and 864. I believe these are the best crankbait blanks loomis has produced to date.
  21. That doyo is the most customized ordering process I've ever seen for a reel. You choose gear ratio, handle assembly (8 choices), spool (deep, shallow, super shallow). You can add all the spools if you want...and a spare handle(s).
  22. One of my top worms is the Manns dragin' paddletail worm in motor oil/gold flake. Wish they still made the 7" version, but the 5" produces. This worm THUMPS! https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-PADWORM.html?from=basres
  23. I added a few bags of 4" Senkos to my academy order. I always wondered if the 4" would produce the famous shimmy like 5". We'll see....
  24. The $720 model is the conquest, which was a colaboration of Shimano and gloomis. Shimano took a jdm blank from the '16 poison glorious and sent them to loomis to design and build the rods. IMO, the colaboration was backwards, and Loomis should have sent blanks to Japan for Shimano to design and build. If you want to try a loomis....nrx or glx is the way to go.
